There's a Snack-I don't remember the title or who wrote it, but it probably predates publication of OotP.
Anyway, they're adults, they hate each other, they're at a meeting of the Order (I think this is an early scene or a flashback-it's not the main plot). Dumbledore asks the Order to accept Snape as their War Mage or some such title, leader in battle, whatever. There is silence, and then Sirius gets up from the table and stalks over to SS-you think there's going to be argument or violence-kneels before him, offers him his knife, swears loyalty, and offers his breast to be stabbed. Needless to tell you, SS rises to the occasion and swears back whatever the loyalty oath is. I don't remember the rest of the plot, but that great scene is stuck in my head and driving me nuts.
It feels like Fabula Rasa-high drama, early conflict, good writing (as I recall)-but I can't find it anywhere among her likely. It's not Ellen Fremedon or, as far as I can discover, Cluegirl. Probably someone who slants a little more toward High Drama.
Please, oh please-be able to tell me the author and title. Or at least enough for me to find the story. Thank you.
