[NEKU]
ALL THESE COLORS AND PIGMENTS
A scavenger
hunt. Not a particularly difficult one, plenty of the scene would recognize the twin doors. Neku had paid to have them repainted, had not expected that repugnant color, but realized it would make the marker that much more distinct for the game Maeda had wanted to play. Neku paid for the minimal lighting too, bought new cords under the understanding that they would be shared with anyone who needed them. He also bought some expensive fluorescent acrylics and went to town on the walls.
Maeda's friends wandered in and out of the process, adding their own touches to Neku's project. Some of them did simple flowers or comic stick figures, others had a bit more talent for the messy finger painting. Neku did not think he would be able to finish the entire room in the time he had, but he would do what he could. It would be fine to leave it as a work in progress, this building was just a thread of old abandoned one room apartments. Some were full of dessicated furniture, all were scorched from the fire that had driven all the tenets out. It had also become watered damaged over many rainy seasons. No one would be too outraged about Neku's mural. So he worked.
["...I see visions of sleeping peaks erupting -- releasing a hell that will shake the Earth from end to end..."]
The only distraction from this work was
Chizuko, chatting with her over the course of a couple days and then going to
meet with her in the square. He was trying not to think about her, but he rarely remembered his vow when his mind began to wander to the shade of her hair or the dark laughter in her eyes.
They had a real
date meeting planned for Wednesday, but Neku found he didn't really mind seeing her sooner...
Then he returned to his work, helped with the painting and the wiring. Futoshi, a full time tech on the entertainment strip, was there to help out this time, saving Neku much of the guess work.
The first listeners began filling in around 0800. Some of them opted to add to Neku's wall, others brought drinks and gathered around the collection of cans and talked amongst themselves amiably. Predicatably, Neku kept to himself, only paying attention when he was directly addressed. Those who had encountered him before noticed he was almost... civil, a huge leap from usual complete disregard.
Time ticked on by, and as curfew began to ring itself in, the last stragglers found their way inside, following Maeda's tune up chords. Word had spread well enough, the room was full and close with Maeda happily situated in the corner amongst his instruments.
["...And this ain’t bad news, good news, or any news -- it’s just the truth. Better save your souls while you can..."]
The siren stopped ringing. 1100: If you're in, you're in.
Let's get on with it. ![](http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/4031/b7ccb6b1f9891671791e4f5.jpg)
