Highs for the week:
In my classroom management course we did our 2nd MicroTeach (teaching a self-created lesson plan to our peers as if they were the class while being video taped) and my professor pulled me aside at the end of the class, touched my arm and said "You are very gifted." On paper it doesn't sound that great, but the look in her eye and her general facial expression was 100% sincere. This is just what I needed because i was starting to doubt my skills at teaching, or being able to manage the class.
I was able to go to the gym Mon-Fri, so now I don't have to have any "make-up" gym days over the weekend. I love those weeks.
Midterms are over and classes have seemed to return to their normal craziness and not intense kill-yourself craziness.
Speak Out on Thursday nights are getting funner and funner. I'm really getting to know the other members and having a good time.
Lows for the week:
In my other education course (legal ethical social, blah blah blah) our weekly discussion was on gender issues. It boiled down to me being the outspoken gay guy defending the rights of gay students, gay parents, teaching about homosexuality, transgendered students, and even women's rights. Some of the views held by students in this class are sad at least and horrifying at worst. At the end of the class, I lingered and had a discussion with the Prof about being a gay teacher (the only subject we didn't breach). I just wish people would stop being so ignorant.
Other than that instance no other real lows, this weeks been busy like the ones past and the ones to come, but I've adjusted. Working full-time and being a full-time student is definitely a new experience, but not all together bad either.
Question:
Should I come to my Ethical Legal Social class in drag next week to prove a point I was trying to make in class?
