[Konata and Yayoi have a makeshift shelter set up inside the far end of Union Cave. It's close enough to the exit to see daylight but far enough away to be safe from the constant stream of water flowing down from the opening into the depths. There's a clothesline with a few clothes on it, though expecting them to actually dry is mostly futile, and a tarp pitched over a tall stalagmite. Konata looks bored -- bored enough to be trying to juggle empty pokeballs, clumsily.]
Hey, Yayoi... [Kona catches her Pokeballs and looks over.] Do you hear that?
[There's a deep rumble from inside the cave...]
Huh!? [Yayoi looks up from watching her Krabby splashing around in a puddle, her eyes wide with surprise as she hears it, too.] I-is it an earthquake?! What should we- [She's interrupted by the ground-shaking 'GROOOOOONIX!!' that echoes through the cavern, which is followed by countless other Pokemon cries ranging from 'GEOOO!' to 'shrewshrewshrew!']
Iori! Um, um- [Yayoi shoots to her feet- only to have a curled up Sandshrew slam into her, sending her sprawling.] HAHWAH!
Ah-- Yayoi!! [Kona quickly readies a Pokeball from her belt.] The water level must have risen again. Hinata, crowd control! [Her Butterfree bursts free from the Pokeball and starts spreading paralyzing dust in every direction. Konata takes advantage of the distraction to dash towards Yayoi to help her up.]
T-Thanks, Konata... [Yayoi takes a moment to catch her breath before-] Iori, bubble at them!! [The Krabby froths at the mouth before sending the watery projectiles floating towards the wild Pokemon, causing a few Geodude and Sandshrew to flinch and run away.]
Uuu... Konata, what are we going to do!? We might run out of Pokemon before the cave does!!
[Hinata is hovering over the fray, high enough to not get hit, but also high enough to not be much help.] We'll run outside if we really have to, but hopefully if we beat enough of them they'll turn back. [Konata tosses out two more Pokeballs at the same time; a Pidgeotto and a Dratini materialize and get to work without prompting.]
Kamikaze, attack the Sandshrews! Don't try to fight the rock types!
Okay! We'll have to do our best!! [Yayoi follows Konata's lead, and the Farfetch'd that appears immediately starts helping Kamikaze... while the Hoppip immediately latches onto the top of Yayoi's head and refuses to let go.] Auuu...
