Well--

Between a floating sickness and terribly tyrannical tea testy tarries, I find my few days here to be...

Odd.

This device, for example, I have yet to truly master. At the very least, I have figured the contraption to record what I may to this 'network'.

Aside and all, I cannot find the heart or resolute to complain--for here, I had not imagined ( Read more... )

Odd is certainly the appropriate word. I hope you are settling in nicely, nevertheless.

Thank you, Ms. Reinette--I hope as well. I cannot yet imagine the strangities of this place.

How are you fairing so, madame?

Nor can I. Even when I feel I have nearly figured it out, something new and strange proves me wrong.

I am well now that I have my feet on the ground again, thank you.

So goes many days and hours in strange, unfamiliar grounds, doesn't it...though, this place seems, well...worse.

Oh, tandmonious--I was quite concerned.

I find it easiest to get by by realizing there is much in this City that is ill. However, it is the good I find here that I focus on. I have made great friends here and immerse myself not only in their friendships, but in activities and visits to the finest places here. I find that if I enjoy those curse-free days to their fullest, then the curse days themselves are but bumps in the road. I can not lie and say it is not difficult; many times I have cursed this place, crying at how much I want to go home. But if I can not will myself home, then I can will myself to enjoy the few pleasantries of this world.

I thank you for your concern, Tarrant. All is well, now. A few bumps and bruises to show for it, but well.

...That is an excellent view if I have ever seen or heard one, madam. I will surely be taking after your example--and advise Alice to do so as well. We are here and as such, the best tidings will be made.

Nothing too serious, then. Are most curses quite as hazardous?

You have here friends from your world?

Some are, and some are quite pleasant. It is an amalgam of hazardous, amusing, and the strange. Or even a combination of the above.

Only one--though far more important and joyous a companion as a phrase could make her seem. My Alice--our Alice--so here to greet me! When I had been missing her so..

..That must be cordially confoundingly credibly confusing.

Though it is a shame you both must be stuck here, having friends from your world makes this one seem a bit like home. Nothing like a friendly face to set your mind at ease.

Indeed it is. As I said, just when I seem to have figured this place out...
