Summary: Goku wonders why Sanzo won't let him drink.
He had wondered a couple of times when he would be considered old enough to try the stuff that the others drank. There had to be something good about the alcoholic stuff that they liked so much.
He lay on his back, with his hands behind his head, staring up at the ceiling in thought. It was semi-late around eleven or so and he knew that the other three had gone to the bar downstairs.
The last time he had tried to get a sample of the drink, Sanzo had told him that he shouldn't be trying to grow up so fast. Even though that wasn't exactly how he phrased it, he knew what he meant.
////Earlier that evening.\\\\
"Aw, come on Sanzo. Just a little?" He looked over at Sanzo who had his arms crossed and his eyes closed.
"No. Why the sudden interest?" He briefly glanced over at him. They had this conversation before.
"You and Hakkai and Gojyo drink it almost all the time. I was kinda wonderin' what's so good about it." He absently fidgeted with his thumbs under the table.
"It's just a drink. There's nothing special about it."
"Then why can't I try it?" He looked a little confused.
"Because brat's like you shouldn't be in a hurry to drink it." He knew that even if the boy tried it now, he wouldn't like it.
Gojyo and Hakkai chose that moment to arrive and the rest went on as normal.

Still, he couldn't help but wonder when he could actually try the stuff.
He turned over and went to sleep.
