The story starts like this:
Five years ago, they were laughing and kicking their shoes off in the sand and he was showing her what it was like to be a wizard and she was showing him what it was like to live. Five years ago, they were swaying back and forth, hair tangling, fingers collecting rust from the chains around the swing and the chains around their hearts.
He's beginning to think that the small ammount of space between what's wrong and what's right never really existed because there was nothing wrong and everything was right.
He wishes he could say the same for right about now.

She used to wish on dandelions and eyelashes and 11:11s and shooting stars. He used to wish on her, and though she never picks flowers, holds lashes, or stays up late enough to see anything indescribable anymore, he still does.
But fall happened and school happened and James Potter happened and happened and happened and happened. They fell apart, because they were never really meant to fall together.
He remembers standing on the top of the slide on the park and acting like the hero, saving the damsel in distress at the last second.
He wonders what happens when it's the hero that needs saving.
