LOST CAME OUT YESTERDAY
School sucked. Except for some stuff. I can't believe I have to be back there....ugh. I saw Breitzman and Fortis and Cella though. That was nice.
Anyway onto Sunday and Monday.
Sunday we left home around 8:30am. Got into NY at like 9:50 and didn't get to the Open until 10:40 something. So me and my brother met up with Ramon and Elizabeth (his friends) and we walked towards the place and we saw people putting up fingers. I told my brother the night before that tickets were sold out but he didn't listen to me....and guess what. They were sold out. So we ended up becoming one of the people that were waving around fingers trying to get scalpers over to us. Didn't work so my brother called one of his roommates and got tickets for the next day. We went to ESPNZone to eat lunch (wasn't the first choice but whatever) and we watched Andre's match there. We called ourselves the USO Rejects. Left there and took the train back to Brunswick and then we headed off towards Princeton to play on clay tennis courts. Came home around 8:30pm.
Monday Ramon came here at like 6am and my brother was still in the shower and I wasn't dressed and didn't have my hair done (lovely). We got out of the house around 6:10-15 with absolutely nothing to eat and we headed off to pick Elizabeth up. It was kinda weird/funny that the first song that randomly got put on in Ramon's car was "Wake Me Up When September Ends" when we headed towards Elizabeth's house. I found it fitting considering school was starting for almost all of us the next day (them college, me highschool). Got to New Brunswick and my brother was getting tickets and me and Ramon went to Dunkin Donuts to get some food. I just bought 2 donuts and ate them on the train ride to NY. We got to the USO around 9:30ish and one of the people that worked there told us that it was empty at the South Gate so we went down there. It really wasn't but I think it was less than the East (?) gate thingy.
We got in and me, my brother, and Ramon went to the practice courts to see who was there and Elizabeth went off to find a sweatshirt. We saw Justine at the courts and when she came off, there were only about 7 people there and she didn't sign or anything which was a bummer even though I'm not a fan of hers at all. She had a match in a little bit so whatever. Lindsay was on the courts practicing as well and we tried getting some shots. I saw Leander Paes practicing...tried getting some shots but he was either always turned away from me or far away and I didn't figure out how to get my zoom higher until much later. My brother and Ramon went to Grandstand to get some seats and me and Elizabeth just stayed on the practice courts cause we didn't want to miss anyone and Lindsay was about to get off. Got her autograph (Elizabeth got it on her sweatshirt) which was cool and some pics.
Once we got that, Elizabeth got something to eat and we headed over towards Grandstand. We got lost and ended up in Armstrong somehow where Tommy and Robby were in the first set lol. We decided we'd watch some of it and ended up sitting in reserved seats but we never got kicked out lmao. The guy would've eventually gotten to us but we decided to leave 2 changeovers later. We got into Grandstand this time and they have really good seats. If they showed the damn match (Jelena vs Svetlana and later Marat vs Ollie) on the tv, you would've seen us. We got in the first set I think when Jelena came back and then both of us left in the second set, I think, to see if anyone was on the practice courts again.
So we got there and who's practicing? Why it's Andy Roddick (PUSSYFOREHANDNOW) of course! I was freaking out and so I went to the side so I could maybe get in the crack and get some pics but there was this girl there who would not move and she wasn't taking any pics anyway! Blah. That annoyed me. I asked her if I could take some pics and she finally moved. I tried getting some shots but he was on the other side and I still couldn't figure out how to get my zoom higher yet. And all of a sudden Mardy shows up right there. wtf. He was practicing with Gonzo. Tried getting some pics but his back was towards me. I made up for that later. I saw Andy start walking to the exit so I ran over there trying to find Elizabeth who was saving a spot. I. Got. Crushed. By. People. She got his autograph on her sweatshirt and I got like one pic....oh well. Everyone was waiting for Jimmy to come out but he ended up hitting on the court cause he was gonna play seniors soon. The man is 54 but I love him and think he's cute. Issues. I know.
We ended up talking to some kids in front of us. It was actually amusing lol and me and Elizabeth were trying to plan out how I'd try getting a pic with Jimmy. Gonzo came out...got some pics and his autograph. Andy Murray was walking in to the courts and I got a quick shot of him talking to us. Then Todd Martin came out and he totally skipped over the sweatshirt and my paper but then Mardy came out. I just about melted cause he was smiling and happy and he looked so cute. I felt like hugging the guy. But he signed the sweatshirt for Elizabeth and I told him thank you and randomly asked for a pic. He surprisingly said yeah sure and so I gave my camera to some girl who was right behind me and turned around and smiled. She told me the pic turned out awkward and....it did lmfao. My nose and my eye are in there and then there's Mardy's face. OH WELL...I'M IN IT! He was so sweet though....ugh. Can I take him home??!! Some girl asked for his headband and right before he left he took it off and threw it near us. I didn't realize until after and I was so close that I could've gotten it. Damn woman. Oh and there was this little girl in front of me and she was trying to get the cap off of her marker and so I was like oh here let me do it for you. So she held the bottom and I tried pulling the cap off with one hand and this photographer came over and snapped some shots lmao. So if anyone sees a pic of a little girl holding up a marker and another person pulling on it...it's me! Let me know lmao.
James Blake went on the courts and I got a quick pic of him too. Then Jimmy finally came out and EVERYONE was around us. I was crushing the kids in front of me...I felt bad but I was being pushed into them. Got the sweatshirt signed for Elizabeth but didn't get my pic with Jimmy or an autograph. He put his racquet and his sweater down on the ground and me being the person that I am....I asked for the sweater lmfao. Everyone just turned to me and laughed lol. I'm not sure if he heard me or not but it would've been pretty cool if I got that sweater vest.
We went back to Grandstand and it was the 3rd set of the womens match. Saw my first ever TB in person. Jelena won and then Marat and Ollie came out. My freakin god Marat is a foot or so taller than Ollie lmfao. It was hysterical just watching them at the next cause there's this huge tall Marat and then there's little teeny tiny Ollie. It was adorable and cute and I loved it lol. We stayed for the warmup and for the first couple games. We had some issues with this guy who tried taking Elizabeth's seat and then we left to go to the practice courts cause my brother wanted to see if Roger was there. We headed towards Armstrong first though to find out what the score was. The place was packed so we just went all the way to the top and stood there. It was a good view actually. We watched the last couple games and the TB in the fifth set for that. Robby seemed pretty pissed at the end of the match.
After that, we headed to the courts again and Roger was there hitting around. My brother and Elizabeth were freaking out lol. Apparently last year Elizabeth "collasped" after she got Roger's autograph lmfao. We helped her pick out a spot on her sweatshirt where Roger could sign and we decided the pocket in the front would be best. Roger came out, people pushed, this girl glared at me cause I was trying to get pics and maybe I hit her head (tough love sweetheart, it happens),and my brother pushed me behind him to get his hat signed by Roger and Roger only lol. They got their stuff signed and I got some pics. Ramon probably got pics of Roger actually hitting...he has SUCH a good zoom on his camera.
Me and my brother hadn't eaten since 8:30 in the morning so we grabbed some lunch at like 3 or 4 something. Since Andy's match wasn't being shown on the tv for some reason, I wanted to go see Mardy and Gonzo play doubles so we got some seats there. Those two are adorable together. They put their arms around each other after a point and it was just plain cute. We left after the TB and me and him and Ramon went to the fountain so I could look at Andy's scores and so we could wait for Elizabeth who was watching Lindsay. We ended up seeing Luke Jensen and we were wondering why no one was around him lol. So I went up to him and asked for a pic and he was like "Yeah! Sure!" and he asked about my name and what it meant and if I was hindu (to which I replied no cause I'm not lmao) and me and Ramon got our pic taken. It was awesome even though I can't stand the guy on tv lol. It turned out to be a good pic actually so....yeah that was good.
We found Elizabeth and were about to leave when I found a cardboard cutout and I looked at it and it was Jimmy Connors lmao. So I wanted to get a pic with it cause...it's the closest thing I could get to a real one lmfao. Ramon got in with me and then we also found the pics of players so being the dorks we are me and Ramon got pics with those things too lol. Most of them are on his camera except for the one where Andy's punching me and we're staring down James. Hehe.
So we left there and took the train back to Brunswick where we dropped my brother off. We got a tad bit lost there without him but found our way out. Got home around 8:45 pm and I got my crap together for the next day since it was school.
