Yoko wiped the sweat off her forehead. It was a hot day, and a frustrating one at that. Technically, her duties at the castle involved cooking, cafeteria duty, and the various healing and other magical tasks that her white magic could accomplish. Today, however, she was needed in the fields. The livestock was an important asset, especially right now with the threat of the God Of Destruction, Anthrax. The ability to feed the troops and civilians was essential.

She was well-respected enough in the castle that if she had chosen to turn down the task, no one would have said anything. She worked hard, and nearly everyone left in the castle knew it. Nevertheless, she was out here, in the sun and heat, helping a group of young men and women with their goats. To be honest, she'd taken the job largely to get away from the stupid asshole.

High on the hills with the lonely goatherd, lay-od-lay-od-lay-he-hoo
Yodell back with the girl and goatherd, lay-od-lay-od-low

Wind it up
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low

The girls had taken to Yoko immediately, laughing and joking around. She was a near-celebrity, and when they'd requested an extra pair of hands for a week, they'd never expected that she'd choose to come. The boys, on the other hand, seemed more aloof. Yoko had tried to be friendly with them, but beyond a lot of blushing and stammering, the boys simply refused to talk to her. She could feel eyes on her though, eyes that seemed to follow her every move.

(Yeah)
This is the key that makes us wind up
When the beat comes on, the girls all line up
And the boys all look, but no, they can't touch
But the girls want to know why the boys like us so much

It wasn't until the second day, though, that Yoko realized that the other girls were intentionally moving in ways to attract the boys attention. She'd purposefully kept herself innocent and in many ways naive of matters of sex. While this worked well for purposes of white magic, it could make other things more difficult to deal with. Of course, she wasn't...

Suki, a girl no older than Yoko, nudged her, grinning. "You're blushing! What are you thinking of?"

"I... No one!" That stupid... stupid... asshole! He had no right to intrude on her thoughts like this. Yoko quickly drug her thoughts back to the present, and banished the blush.

"No one?" The other girl laughed, and then gestured towards the boys with a nod of her head. "Just now noticed the staring?"

The blush was back, and Yoko nodded.

"They know you're not available, girl! But availability's got nothing to do with it. It's all about attitude. The boys like watching, they like the little glimpses of skin they get. And you... Well, enough said, right?" Suki grinned.

They like way we dance, they like the way we work
They like the way the L.A.M.B. is going 'cross my shirt
They like the way my pants, it compliments my shape (She's crazy, right?)
They like the way we react everytime we dance

Yoko just stared for a moment. Suki sighed and shook her head.

"Look, we're not giving them anything they're not going to find a way to get anyway. This way, we're in control, and that's what's most important. Besides, we need something to cheer us up. This war has got everyone depressed. Here, watch this."

With that, Suki was off. It started off as a stretching exercise, with Suki moving her body in every direction possible. If not for the way every boy in the vicinity stared, it would have seemed a completely innocent workout. In fact, Yoko knew for a fact that she'd done similar things in the privacy of her home.

Everytime the bass bangs, realize it calls your name
Let the beat wind you up, and don't stop till your time is up
Get in line now

Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low

The other girls started grinning. Quickly, they all secured their animals and one by one began to join in. Though each girl did something different, somehow everything worked together to create an impromptu dance that was exhilarating and sensual. And yet throughout it all, nothing was overtly sexual. There was no pulling at the clothing, no imitation of sex, nothing that Yoko could point to that made it dirty. Most everything they did, in fact, were things that she herself used to keep her own body in shape.

The boys watched with a fascination that Yoko had never seen before. Well, never before in men other than... Well, Lucien when he was that asshole stared like that, but he was a lech and a slut, so it had never surprised her. With normal men though... She'd never realized anyone besides Lucien and his pervy friends could look like that.

You've got to let the beat get under your skin
You've got to open up, and let it all in
But see, once it gets in, the poppin' begins
And then you find out, why all the boys stare

They're trying to bite our style
Trying to study our approach
They like the way we do it, so original
I guess that they are slow, so they should leave the room
This beat is for the clubs, and cars that go

Everytime the bass bangs, realize it calls your name
Let the beat wind you up, and don't stop till your time is up
Get in line now

None of the boys tried to join in though. It was as though there was an invisible wall between where they stood and where the girls were 'exercising.' The girls, on the other hand, moved close, so close they almost touched the young men, flirting and smiling. And then, suddenly, the exercise was over, and all the girls went back to their tasks. Yoko blinked. It was like there had been some sort of invisible signal that she wasn't aware of. But there was no applause, no recognition of the show. The boys stood, transfixed, for a moment or two longer, and then went on with their own chores.

Suki grinned as she made her way over to Yoko. "We should teach you some moves."

"How did you all know when to stop?"

Shrugging, Suki looked over towards her friends. "We watch each other. We're all pretty good at that. So are you going to join us next time?"

"I... I'm not sure..."

"You will."

The other girl was right. The next day, Yoko was dragged into the 'exercise.' Though nervous, she did well for herself. Throughout the remaining time that day, the girls came up one at a time to comment on it, and by the time she collapsed into her bed, Yoko had decided that she rather liked the attention. Temporarily, anyway.

Uh, uh, uh, wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
(Ya'll ready)
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, odallay, yodal-low

Uh huh, it's your moment
Uh huh, come on girl, you know you own it
Uh huh, you know your key is still tick-tockin'
Hell yeah, and you know they're watchin'

It wasn't until the last day of her duties in the fields that Yoko realized that the feeling of being stared at had increased. There was something about the itch in between her shoulder blades that was different today, and she wasn't sure what it was.

She didn't notice anything out of the ordinary though, so she chose to ignore it. And when the girls started in on their 'exercises' she joined in, not even thinking about it.

Get it girl, get it, get it girl
Get it girl, get it, get it girl
To the front, to the side,
To the back, but don't let him ride

She was in the middle of a rather complicated move, one that required a great deal more flexibility than she normally displayed, when Yoko heard a familiar voice, chanting. She didn't have time to untangle herself before the ground behind the boys exploded.

"LUCIEN. BAD."

Coming out from behind the hedges where he'd been hiding, Dark Schneider watched lecherously as she came to her feet. The boys had been thrown to the ground, though it didn't appear as though any had been hurt.

"But Yoko-san! They were staring! I, the great and mighty DS, would never deign to share your gorgeous body with anyone, least of all these mere peasants, for I am the most handsome, most powerful being that has ever walked this earth, a god among men, a--OW! Yoko-san! That hurt!"

Picking up another rock, Yoko glared at the sorcerer. "I taught you better than this! You... you... PERVERT!"

Keep goin' girl, it's your night
Don't let him steal your light
I know he thinks you're fine and stuff
But does he know how to wind you up?
(Come on)

Dark Schneider covered his head with his hands, whimpering. "Yoko-san! You wouldn't want to hurt my beautiful face!"

Yoko threw her rock, hitting his forehead. The great and powerful sorcerer shrieked like a girl and scampered away from her.

"Yoko-san!"

She looked around and found another rock. Dark Schneider's eyes went wide, and he backed off more.

"You ruined our fun, you stupid pervert!"

"But Yoko-san!"

Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Wind it up, uh, uh, uh, uh
Yodellay, yodallay, yodal-low, hey!

The girls surrounded Yoko, and even the boys came over, staring at the sorcerer who had saved their kingdom several times in just a few months. Glancing at Yoko, they all picked up rocks, hefting them in an obvious threat. Dark Schneider's eyes went as big as saucers, and he turned and ran.

Yoko just sighed. "Stupid moron."

Those around her laughed. "Wow. He really gets your goat, doesn't he?"

The pun was too horrible not to laugh at.
