“Let me live my life the way I want to!” He yelled at his band members, ignoring their frustration.
“You are so selfish, hyung!” HyungJun grabbed onto HyunJoong’s arm to prevent him from leaving, but he stumbled backwards when he was met by angry eyes glaring at him intently. He then let go of HyunJoong’s arm when it was yanked roughly away.
“HyunJoong!” YoungSaeng stepped closer, his hand was resting on the older man’s shoulder. “Why are you being so selfish? You’re our leader! You can’t just-”
“Shut up!” He turned around suddenly, staring straight into YoungSaeng’s eyes. “I’m selfish? I’m selfish? You didn’t expect for us to always be together like this, did you?”
The other members were quiet as they listened to him sadly. “Sometimes I just wish I wasn’t here!”
He walked to his bedroom, slamming the door loudly. They then heard his voice yelling from the other side. “And you can just sleep elsewhere tonight, YoungSaeng!”
YoungSaeng flinched at that comment, his eyes were wandering slowly across the room to meet sad faces. “Let’s…let’s just let him sleep it off tonight…”
When he woke up the following morning, HyunJoong’s head felt heavy. He looked at his room and wondered why the view looked different from normal. He paused briefly when he realized he was staring at his bed. There was another person in the bed, why? He had locked the door, so it could not have been YoungSaeng sleeping there.
When he tried to approach his bed, he was met by an invisible barrier. He timidly touched this imperceptible screen in front of him before he turned sideways and slammed his body roughly against it, but it was no use. This barrier was indestructible.
He then gasped when he noticed the figure in the bed was stirring, and when the body sat up and looked at the mirror, he was shocked by what he saw. Staring right back at him, grinning deviously, was…
“Why am I there?”
The figure walked closer to the mirror, stroking the reflection derisively. “This is my life now, HyunJoong. Enjoy living in this mirror.”
His doppelgänger chuckled evilly to himself before walking out of the room and leaving HyunJoong trapped within his prison, crying after the disappearing form.
“Good morning,” the dark look-alike chirped cheerfully as he entered the kitchen. He looked at the confused faces staring right back at him. “What’s wrong?”
KyuJong shuffled his feet nervously. “Are you alright, hyung?”
The doppelgänger walked over to the counter, reaching for a glass before filling it with water. After taking a few sips, he smiled sweetly at KyuJong. “I’ve never felt better.”
He turned to look at the other members and noticed YoungSaeng sitting sadly at the end of the dining table. He walked over and cupped the younger man’s chin gently and spoke soothingly, “Are you mad at me?”
“Are you mad at me?” YoungSaeng countered, and was a little annoyed when he heard soft laughter from the other man. He turned his body away, but his face flushed when he felt an arm wrapped across his shoulders, and a face nuzzling into the crook of his neck.
“How could I ever be mad at you?”
“You’re acting weird today,” Jungmin started, pausing briefly before continuing, “even weirder than normal.”
“I just wanted to put last night behind us,” the dark figure said curtly, straightening up. “I know, let’s go out and eat.”
“How can you eat at a time like this?” HyungJun asked bluntly. His tone then shifted to resentment. “And aren’t you shooting a drama today?”
The doppelgänger shrugged, and then smiled again. “I’ll go do the shoot, and then tonight I’ll make dinner.”
“But you’ll be out in the countryside,” HyungJun reminded him.
“I’ll just have to convince the directors to let me leave earlier then,” the doppelgänger said knowingly, smiling again at the confused faces in front of him.
“Cut! Cut!” The director yelled, getting up from his seat and walking over slowly to the look-alike. “HyunJoong, what’s the matter with you today? Usually, you’re more diligent about this.”
“I guess I’m just having an off day,” he answered offhandedly, his eyes were wandering across the set absentmindedly. “Can I take a break?”
The director stared at him, annoyance was evident on his face, before turning away. “We might as well, since we need to set the scene up again. Let’s take twenty, everyone!”
The doppelgänger smirked to himself, walking happily off the set and over to his co-actress who was standing by the refreshment table observing the scene. He smiled at her, and was pleased when she smiled at him in response. He stepped closer to her, closing the distance between the two until she was trapped between the table and him.
“Um, HyunJoong,” she started, growing uncomfortable by his strange behavior. “Why are you standing so close to me?”
He leaned down, kissing her cheek briefly, his arms were slowly wrapping themselves around her. “I thought you’d like this?”
She tried to push him away but he was much stronger than she was. “HyunJoong, you know that I already have a boyfriend!”
“So?” He tightened his embrace, and let a hand caressed her all over, eventually slipping under her short dress. When she started to scream, he covered her mouth with the other hand, whispering lowly, “Now, that’s not a good idea, noona, I don’t want people to look at me as a bad guy.”
She struggled and bit his hand, forcing him to pull his hand away; a scowl was on his face as he nursed his injured hand. He then slapped her across the face when she started screaming, alerting everyone on the set of his attack. By that time, all eyes were staring at him in shock. Several assistants came at him and pulled him away from the violated and panicked actress, and he did not even bother to resist.
The director from earlier stepped over, anger and confusion was radiated off his figure. “What the hell is wrong with you today? Do you have any idea what sort of scandal this could create?” He paused to see if the man in front of him would even respond, but when he was met by silence, he continued with increasing heat, “If you’re going to be like this, then don’t even bother showing up for work tomorrow! Go home, you’re fired!”
The doppelgänger shrugged carelessly and walked away, waving a hand nonchalantly to bid everyone goodbye. He got into his car and drove off, intent on having more “fun” before heading back home.
By the time he returned home, it was getting dark. As he entered the apartment, he was immediately attacked by an onslaught of questions and demands from the four younger members.
“Hyung, what is the meaning of this?” HyungJun shoved a magazine into his face. The headline alluded to his assault on his ex-co-star earlier that day.
He skimmed over the article, and shrugged carelessly before heading into the kitchen. “It’s just like what it said.” After drinking a glass of water, he turned around to look at the other younger members staring at him in shock. “Ah, I promised to make dinner, right? Let me change clothes first before I start.”
“But hyung,” HyungJun started to talk, but the doppelgänger had already walked away and entered his room, and closed the door rather soundly.
The doppelgänger then walked over to the mirror, leaning over and smiling the same twisted smile that was plastered on his face all day. “Are you enjoying your time there, HyunJoong?”
HyunJoong stared at the evil twin in front of him. He pounded on the mirror from his side, demanding angrily to be released. The doppelgänger’s smile widened as he shook his head calmly. “I cannot do that yet, my dear twin, because I am having too much fun wrecking your life.” He stopped for a moment, a thought was forming in his head. “Besides, I want to play with everyone tonight.”
After changing his clothes for something more comfortable, he walked out of the room, paying no attention to HyunJoong’s angry outbursts. He quietly closed the door, and walked down the hall and towards the kitchen. He raised a brow when he saw the four younger members sitting at the table gloomily. “Now, why is everyone still so upset?”
KyuJong was the first to respond, “Because you’re acting really strange, hyung.”
The doppelgänger shrugged. “I feel fine. Now everyone get out of the kitchen, so I can cook.”
HyungJun started to protest again but they were already being shoved out of the kitchen. He sighed dejectedly as he followed the others out of the room.
As he turned around, the doppelgänger reached into his pants pocket and pulled out many small white pills. He grinned to himself as he clenched his hand together tightly, slowly striding over to the cabinets to look for a pot.
After several minutes of combining various ingredients together, he tasted the stew that was in front of him. He smacked his lips together, wondering to himself vaguely about what was missing. He then laughed at himself, feeling rather foolish for being so forgetful, and pulled out the pills from earlier again. He crushed the pills, and then poured the white powder into his concoction.
He looked around the kitchen for a moment before his eyes landed on a bottle of cold medicine on the counter. He picked up the bottle and examined the green liquid inside. Turning the bottle around, he read quietly to himself the drug information. He smiled and returned to his stew, stirring it briefly before pouring in the remaining half-empty bottle of medicine.
As the stew simmered, he poked his head out of the kitchen briefly to check on the other members. HyungJun and Jungmin were sitting on the couch staring at the television idly, but YoungSaeng and KyuJong were nowhere in sight.
He shrugged it off and returned to the stove to turn off the heat. He rummaged through the cabinets for two bowls, filling it each full of his drugged mixture, before placing them carefully on a tray. He then carried the tray out to the living room, setting it carefully on the floor before passing a bowl to each person. “Enjoy.”
Jungmin stirred the bowl warily, his eyes glancing at the doppelgänger every so often.
“What’s wrong?” The doppelgänger sat down on the couch next to Jungmin, his hand was reaching for the spoon. He stirred it for a bit before scooping some up. “Try it. You too, HyungJun.”
HyungJun and Jungmin ate slowly, and as they finished their food, they both began to feel drowsy.
“Hyung,” HyungJun yawned loudly, his hand was trying to hide his yawn. “Why am I so sleepy?”
“If you’re tired, then go to sleep,” the doppelgänger whispered quietly, pulling both HyungJun and Jungmin down to lie on the couch. He then positioned their drowsy forms carefully on the couch, making sure that it did look like they were asleep. He crouched down, his mouth was close to Jungmin’s ear. “Where’s KyuJong?”
“Taking a shower,” Jungmin murmured back softly, his breathing was getting slower by the second.
“Good night, Jungmin. Good night, HyungJun,” he whispered lowly, patting both men on the head lightly before heading to the bathroom. He opened the door and smiled sweetly when KyuJong jumped back in surprised and almost slipped on the wet floor.
“W-what are you doing here?”
“Are you almost done? Let’s take a shower together.” He had already removed his shirt, and tossed it on the vanity. The rest of his clothes quickly followed in similar fashion as he stepped carefully inside the shower with KyuJong. He pressed his body closer to KyuJong, their skin was touching lightly as warm water dripped down their bodies. He then let a pleased smile graced his face when he saw a bright blush forming on the younger man’s cheeks.
“Hyu-” KyuJong covered his mouth quickly when a soft moan escaped his lips as the doppelgänger guided his hand down the younger man’s body, caressing him gently in every inch of his bare form. He turned around quickly when he felt the doppelgänger groping his buttocks roughly.
“What do you think you’re doing?” KyuJong demanded angrily, the blush on his face was growing redder.
The doppelgänger stepped closer, grabbing KyuJong’s wrists and pinning them over his head. He navigated the shower head over KyuJong’s body momentarily before raising it over KyuJong’s head and drenching him completely. “Aren’t you enjoying this?” He leaned in, pressing his lips against KyuJong’s neck, nipping it lightly.
“N-no! What the hell is wrong with you?” KyuJong tried to push the doppelgänger away, but he was close to slipping again.
The doppelgänger dropped the shower head, letting it fall to floor and spraying the area erratically. Now that his hand was free, he turned KyuJong around forcefully, making sure to still keep his wrists bounded. He pressed himself closer, and trailed light kisses down KyuJong’s trembling body, his free hand had found its way downward and was already in the process of fondling KyuJong’s cock teasingly.
“S-stop this!” KyuJong bit back a scream as he tried to struggle free again, but he soon found himself pressed even closer to the wall.
“Where’s YoungSaeng?” The doppelgänger asked calmly, his mouth was close to KyuJong’s ear.
KyuJong held back a whimper. “A-a-asleep…in your room.”
The doppelgänger smirked, his face was buried within KyuJong’s damped hair. “Then we better be quiet, and not wake our prince up.” He grinded against KyuJong brusquely, a low groan left his parted mouth, mingling together with KyuJong’s pleading, hushed cries. He released his hold on KyuJong’s wrists, watching half-amused as the bruised wrists instantly dropped to the younger man’s side. His voice was shallow as he whispered sweet nothings, dropping slowly to his knees, and pressing his lips lightly against KyuJong’s cock.
KyuJong doubled over slightly, his hands were pushing against the wall forcefully, when he felt the doppelgänger taking his hard cock in his mouth, and sucking on it leisurely, almost as if he was savoring the moment as slowly as possibly. Desperately, KyuJong let one hand grabbed onto the doppelgänger’s thick, wet hair, yanking it roughly. “Please don’t!”
The doppelgänger pulled back, unaffected by the rough treatment to his hair, his head was raised to look at KyuJong’s bright red, mortified face. He smirked when he heard KyuJong’s pleading voice again, “Please stop this, HyunJoong.”
The doppelgänger pulled KyuJong down to the floor, turning him around again until his face was pressed against the wall. As he pressed his hard member against KyuJong, he whispered lowly, “HyunJoong is gone.”
KyuJong’s eyes widened as he tried to turn around to face the doppelgänger, but the rough, unyielding and sudden thrusts that quickly followed had overcome his senses. His frantic screaming was quickly muffled by a hand over his mouth. The doppelgänger pressed his own head against KyuJong’s, his smile widened when he felt moisture on his fingers. He pushed a finger inside KyuJong’s mouth, letting him taste his own salty tears.
“You’re such a good boy, KyuJong,” the doppelgänger murmured, nibbling gently on the younger man’s earlobe.
The brutal attack continued for what seemed like an eternity of helplessness and humiliation to KyuJong. When the doppelgänger finally relented, he stepped back, smiling satisfactorily at the bruised form in front of him. He carefully propped KyuJong up, growing more pleased when he saw his twisted reflection in KyuJong’s lifeless eyes. His hand then wandered over to the fallen shower head and proceeded to let the now cool water wash KyuJong.
KyuJong held back a choked sob as he watched the bloodied water flowed down the drain, the memory of what happened only a moment ago was replaying nonstop in his mind, forcing him to relive each tragic second over and over and over again. When he felt the doppelgänger grabbing his face, he flinched, shutting his eyes tightly to avoid staring into those ill eyes.
“Do you want to forget?” The voice was so disdainful. “I’ll help you forget.”
He opened his eyes when he felt something around his neck. His eyes widened again as he gazed at the evil glint in the doppelgänger’s eyes as he tightened the cord of the shower head around his neck, constricting him until he was struggling for breath.
The doppelgänger continued to strangle his latest victim, a crazed, pleased look was on his face when he heard faintly the sound of KyuJong’s neck snapped. He then unwound the cord carefully and proceeded to cleaning himself up before leaving the shower. After redressing himself, he walked pass the shower, glimpsing briefly at the motionless body sitting against the wall, a horror-stricken look was left on his face.
“That was fun, KyuJong, but I think I will enjoy playing with YoungSaeng now.” He turned off the light in the bathroom, closing the door gently, before walking back to the kitchen. He walked over to the counter, glancing indifferently at the mess he left earlier. He opened a drawer and pulled out a kitchen knife, turning it sideways to examine it carefully before heading for his room, the knife was at his side.
As he opened the door, he scowled to himself when he heard HyunJoong’s angry voice from the mirror. He walked over to the mirror placed across the bed, and set the knife gently on the dresser below the looking glass.
HyunJoong stumbled backward a little when he saw the face that was identical to his, sneering and laughing haughtily at him. “What did you do?” His voice was low and fearful.
“Your precious friends are…” his voice trailed off and he mouthed “gone” at HyunJoong, the demented smile never once wavered even when HyunJoong’s shocked face stared right back at him.
HyunJoong tightened his hands, and rammed his body up against the barrier, screaming and crying relentlessly, “Bastard! You fucking bastard!” He stopped his futile attempt when he saw his doppelgänger turning away, walking slowly over to the bed where YoungSaeng slept peacefully, unaware of the horrors the apartment had witnessed.
“No! Get away from him!” HyunJoong kept on screaming, but his doppelgänger continued to smile mercilessly as he inched closer to YoungSaeng’s sleeping form. “Don’t touch him, you bastard!”
He watched helplessly as the doppelgänger crawled onto the bed and straddled YoungSaeng’s waist. He then proceeded to raise the kitchen knife he brought along, positioning it steadily directly above YoungSaeng’s heart. He let one of his hands touch YoungSaeng’s face lightly, his slender finger was fluttering against the soft skin teasingly. He smiled knowingly when he saw YoungSaeng slowly opening his eyes.
“HyunJoong?”
“Goodbye, my prince.”
HyunJoong cried out desperately when he saw his doppelgänger bringing the knife down, stabbing YoungSaeng repeatedly in his heart, laughing madly as YoungSaeng’s chilling cries resonated within the quiet apartment.
“Stop this!” HyunJoong kept on shrieking, pounding furiously into his side of the mirror, wishing with all of his might that if he pounded hard enough, he could break this cursed barrier.
When the laughter and cries ceased, HyunJoong looked at the still and bloody body of YoungSaeng, his eyes were slightly closed and his mouth was opened partly. He growled in disgust when the doppelgänger leaned down and seized YoungSaeng’s mouth with his, kissing him violently as his hand worked their ways elsewhere down his body.
After minutes of this degradation, the doppelgänger leaned back, licking the blood away from his lips satisfyingly. He turned his cool gaze to meet HyunJoong’s heated glare, and smirked as a response.
“Why? W-why did you do it?” He tried to keep his voice steady.
The doppelgänger looked at him curiously before erupting into his mad laughter. He got off the bed and walked closer to HyunJoong, whispering lowly, almost as if he was revealing a deep, dark secret, “My dear twin, don’t you mean ‘Why did I do it?’”
“What do you mean by that?” The anger in his voice was obvious.
He growled lowly when he was laughed at again. The evil twin leaned in; his hand was touching the mirror where their cheek was. “I am you and you are me, we are one, you and I.”
Just as HyunJoong was about to respond, the evil, laughing figure before him suddenly started to fade away. “Wait! Whe-” He stopped speaking when he realized the image staring back at him was not the doppelgänger, but it was him. He was the one covered in splatters of dark red blood, and he was the one holding the bloodied knife that was still dripping tiny red droplets on the floor.
“I…I killed them all…”
The sound of the knife dropping on the wooden floor clattered loudly in this quietude, and it was quickly followed by a hellish scream, resounding piercingly in the room as his fists started pounding the mirror in front of him uncontrollably. Tiny shards of glass were embedded into his skin, cutting him slowly until thin trails of blood seeped out from beneath the glasses, but he was so numbed he did not even feel the pain.
Crack, snap.
He could’ve sworn it was the sound of his heart breaking, and leaving his chest hollow. With each punch he threw, he could feel the evil from earlier crawling back into his head, and even though he was aware of it now, he did not want to force it out.
When the mirror was nothing more, he staggered back, erupting into a bitter, twisted laughter as he raised an arm, and licked away the blood that was trailing slowly down his wrist, but his lust was still not satisfied. He reached for the dropped knife and turned around to face the bed, smirking devilishly. He crawled onto the bed leisurely; his head was bent down to admire his exquisite work. He let his tongue traveled over YoungSaeng’s cold, bloodied body, as the knife gradually sliced away the dead man’s clothes until he was exposed completely.
“Beautiful…”
