Episcopalians continue split in church
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061218/ap_on_re_us/episcopalians_split 'pparently a Nigerian Bishop has split from the Anglican parent church because said parent church is becoming increasingly tolerant of gay unions, and these Virginia churches are following suit. The Bible condems acceptance of our homosexual brothers and sisters.
Which makes me wonder if people who continue to exclude Christ's teachings from Christianity should just resort to calling themselves Biblicists. I mean, I know Jesus himself didn't go for dudes or chicks, and didn't say much about whether or not people should - but that kind of makes me wonder if it was a moot point.
Anyhow, the whole point of this post is that when fundamental questions arise in Christianity and people start looking to the part of the scripture that fits their worldview instead of regarding the lessons of their religion's Numero Uno Prophet and Son, God Incarnate and also Holy Ghost trifecta, I start to think about the branches of Christianity that we'll see down the road. And wonder about past branches that have sprung up and died down.
Lather, rinse, repeat. Did you know that the Shakers only have 4 living members left? Talk about dying down.
