Three drabbles. That’s pretty much all that needs to be said.
[Starlight]
A blanket of velvet covered the sky, dusted with pure sparkles of ethereal light. The expanse stretched for as far as the eye could see, and enveloped the land in comfortable darkness. The wind whispered along the grass, threatening to whisk away the stars, as though they were tiny grains of glittering dust.
He watched as the blades of grass swayed with the gentle touch, and as the stars twinkled, never wavering in their beauty. He shivered as fingers traced the length of his arm, as chilled lips pressed against his own, as his hair was brushed away from his face.
“The stars could live for thousands of years, and you could admire and watch them every night, yet they’d never outshine the beauty I see behind your eyes.”
[Four of diamonds]
He picked up the last card from the pile, and frowned. By matter of deduction it should have been the one he needed - after all, Kai had said that he didn’t have it. So why had he picked up the two of spades, when the one he needed was the four of diamonds.
He chucked his hand onto the table, in a burst of child like behaviour. It didn’t make any sense, and that constant snickering wasn’t making his mood any better. He glared at his opponent, and crossed his arms across his chest, pouting slightly.
Kai sighed, and lifted his fourth card to his mouth, pressing his lips to the material gently. His eyes fluttered shut, and he pushed the card across the surface - it’s patterned side facing upwards.
Rei picked it up, and smiled. “I win!”
[Path of sin]
The villagers had always called him a good boy. An honest child, with a beautiful face, and a righteous duty to protect those he loved. He had within him a fiery passion for all that he did - and all that he did was completed with meticulous planning.
What would they say if they could see him now?
His fingers barely touching the guiding hand before him, as they walked through the darkened room. He was being led step by step towards the place he most wanted to be. He registered being pushed against plush bedding, his arms pinned at either side. Searing kisses trailed his skin, and he smiled.
He had been taken down the path of sin, and they’d tumble into hell together.
