At home, in his small apartment, Iruka has a desk where he likes to work on grading his student’s papers. But on that desk, he also keeps his framed pictures, which he has quite a few of.
There’s one of him and Naruto outside of Ichiraku on Naruto’s twelfth birthday. There’s another of Anko and Genma, Anko flashing a peace sign and grinning, Genma with his hand in the air in a still wave. Then there was one of Gai in his best nice guy pose, and still another of the Rookie Nine.
But his favorite picture by far sat at the center of the desk, and when Iruka went to pick it up, he couldn’t contain his smile. A certain silver-haired jounin, looking thoroughly surprised, with the blue fabric of his mask bunched down around his neck, was what the photo contained. Iruka chuckled in amusement when he thought about how much Team 7 would love to see the picture, especially Naruto.
However, Iruka wasn’t a cruel man, so he kept the photo to himself; besides, if he let them see it, he would probably never get it back, and then all the trouble he went through to take the picture would have been for nothing.
Iruka pressed his lips to the cool glass of the photo covering, then put it back in its place on the desk.
Kakashi really didn’t look half-bad with his mask off, he mused.
