I keep hearing a lot of people talk about Thanksgiving, but I'm sure I'm missing some of the important details still. [ He gets the THANKS and GIVING parts, but the holiday itself is confusing. ] I don't even know where America is, or what the people are like-- [ Or what an American is for that matter. ] It's gotta be like one of the four nations ( Read more... )

If what the person who responded first said is true, then that's a terrible way to give thanks. When I can, I will get to the library and see if I can find a book with a history on this holiday. I'm rather curious about why such a day is celebrated, why people are to give thanks and why turkeys are considered the main course and traditional meal for this day.

[If it's a day called 'Thanks Giving', she wants it to be a holiday with a happier connotation. But that's just her optimistic personality showing of all things. Watch as reality smacks her hard in the face.]

I'm curious too. You should let me know if you find anything interesting. I didn't even know there was a library here.

If you're not too busy, would you show me sometime? [ He gives her wide, pretty please eyes. Being 13, he can still do that. ] A library in a strange city full of people from different worlds? That's gotta be amazing! I visited the Spirit Library once, but that was back on my home planet.

[And she giggles at those big eyes. Not to make fun of him, just she thought it was rather adorable.]

I would love to take you to the library at some point. There are many amazing books in there, and I have learned so much from traditions, to holidays that are celebrated here, even random works of fiction that I would have never dreamed imaginable.

[A pause before she speaks up once more.]

My name is Estellise, by the way. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

It sounds cooler already!

I'm Aang! Nice to meet you Estellise. That's a pretty name to say. I've never heard it before.

I don’t believe I have heard anyone with my name either. I also haven’t heard anyone ever with the name ‘Aang’ before, so I suppose we are both in similar situations.
