I keep hearing a lot of people talk about Thanksgiving, but I'm sure I'm missing some of the important details still. [ He gets the THANKS and GIVING parts, but the holiday itself is confusing. ] I don't even know where America is, or what the people are like-- [ Or what an American is for that matter. ] It's gotta be like one of the four nations ( Read more... )

In America, I'm pretty sure that shit's about celebrating the day they came over into the country they now live in, and some meal with the natives there which was supposed to be pleasant. After of course, they killed off most of the natives and took the land for themselves while forcing those natives back into small areas when they used to share all that land, and never even thought of claiming it as their own.

My American history is rusty, but I'm pretty sure their reason for celebrating it is that meal they had with the natives. Don't know why, unless their a sadistic bunch who gets off of ruining lifestyles with their shitty need to shove a flag everywhere and boast over being some 'free country'.

How can anyone celebrate this! America's not anywhere near this city! [ Even if a few people he's met are from there. ] If anything we should be firmly standing against this! [ In fact Aang's sure there was a celebration for the day Sozin and the Fire Nation Army had ambushed his people. He can sympathize. And now he really is sick. ]

So remember, any time anyone says "Happy Thanksgiving" who celebrates it like those from North America, what they really mean is "fuck you and your family, if you get in my way I'll kick your asses and not give two shits about what happens after."

People do what they want, where they want to.

Not everyone's like that. I've met a couple people from America, they're not anything like that.

Naivety over the words they're speaking is just as bad as saying them while understanding. If they can't learn to use just the phrases and words they know the definition of, then they should just shut up.

Unless of course, you mean doing what they want.

In that case, it's pretty disappointing.

Some people may be naive, but they're not just as bad as the people who choose to ignore the terrible history behind this holiday. You really can't help the kind of family you were raised into. [ Whatever that family may be. His family were the monks from the Southern Air Temple. ] All you can do is the right thing when you figure out the truth.
