Probably takes place around the same time as "No One Owns a Thunderstorm". Also, Kiran seems to kill the mood every time he opens his mouth.

“This brings back memories, doesn’t it?” Veris commented as she tugged another weed out of the ground.
Kiran nodded, concentrating on weeding his own section of the small vegetable garden. “We had a goat. Before. We used to trade the milk for vegetables.”
“From Rose’s family, right?” Veris wiped the sweat from her brow. “They had that big farm.”
“Yeah. Before the revolution, that was the only time I’d get to see her.” Veris glanced up, surprised by his nostalgia. “Back then, a smile from her was worth more than gold.”
Softly, he added, “I wish she was still alive.”
