“The results of the second goblin war,” Binns droned on. Serena’s eyelids fought consciousness. Suddenly Binns clutched his chest and dropped to his knees, head sweating, skin grey. “Get Dumbledore,” he gasped.
Serena bolted out the door, darted down the hallway, then smacked into Dumbledore’s purple robes. “Slow down, Miss Bassett!” he huffed.
“Please, Binns is having a heart attack!”
Dumbledore grabbed her arm and rushed to the classroom. Binns’s lecture continued . . . “. . . the goblins agreed to restrict their trading in magical commodities. . .”
“How?” she whispered. Her heart jumped: Binns was standing on his own body.
