Notes: I’ve no idea where this came from. I’ve not written any fiction in over a year, I’ve not written anything original in significantly longer than that, and I’ve never written a drabble. This is just what the prompt brought forth in my mind. So, yeah… nerves ( Read more... )

I love this: it's so evocative. The way it ends, her perspective, and the scene itself are so well-drawn. Awesomeness.

Eerie and sad, and yet, it ends on a hopeful note. I like it! It's so good to read something from you! You must do it again. :D

Thanks, Jules!! I certainly intend to. It was fun to write again, and challenging to hit 100 words on the dot.

PS: LOVE your icon!

HEY YOU! Welcome over here.

My favorite part: She’d told herself these things happened to other people but not to her. She knew the reality now. It reminds me of the time the apartment building next to mine burned down: the whole thing was so surreal. At the time I didn't have the luxury of stopping to think that it was the kind of thing that only happened to other people, but in retrospect, that's a great way to look at it. Except we know differently. Disaster's so opportunistic!

Thanks! It took me long enough to mosey on over here. I had a lot of fun.

Thank you. I'll have to see if this character tells me any more about herself.

Love it Heather. I love the end and how sad it was but hopeful at the same time.

Really love it and miss your writing.

*glomps you for good measure*
