"Just friends" always seemed a silly phrase for two people who spent most of their time together naked. There really wasn't anything friendly about what it was they did at way-too-late or god-knows in the morning, and the day they couldn't wait and met up at I-can-still-see-my-shadow, well, that was pretty much the least friendly afternoon she's had... ever. But "just friends" has its high points; it leaves her open for "bottle of wine" with home-for-the-holidays..."winter camping" with fell-off-the-face-of-the-earth... "drinks" with swings-his-legs-when-he-sits-up-on-a-counter... “dinner at home” with skin-like-cinnamon… and still gives her someone to kiss at midnight on New Year’s Eve.
