This one's not a prompt, but more of a challenge.
Have you ever wondered who your fellow writers are in this community? Why not go ahead and introduce yourselves; we might all make some new friends in the process. In the spirit of things, see if you can introduce yourself in exactly 100 words.

I'll go first. )

I love science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction: anything with strong world-building and a touch of escapism. I started out in Star Wars fandom, but my current fandoms are Torchwood, Doctor Who, Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate: SG-1, Firefly, and a handful of others.

I write less original work than I want to. When it comes to fanfic, I write primarily Cowboy Bebop; Battlestar Galactica; Lost; Baccano!; Final Fantasy VII, X, and XII; Y: The Last Man; and Dragon Age: Origins. I'm a sucker for characterization, characters with shades of gray, and both reading and writing a good turn of phrase.

When I’m feeling rather gutsy, I’ll write a fanfic in Secret Garden, Horatio Hornblower, Jane Austen, or Anne of Green Gables.
I love being an English teacher, drawing, singing, and creating things with beads.

Originally I was going to do something administrative in the field of medicine. Instead I've got a kind of mundane part-time job packing things in a factory. It's a small part of my life now and the rest of my time I spend reading or writing. I also take singing lessons and I love to listen to all kinds of music. I have been mostly writing in the harry potter fandom. this year though, i quietly started spreading my wings. Always looking for new territory.

Grim, isn't it? But when I try to cull everything down to a few words, that's what comes out first. I'm 25, nearly 26, and I don't know what the fuck. Where do I see myself in five years? I don't know. Why does having a past make it difficult to have a future?
I write because it's vital to me. Language is for getting your point across, it's no good if you don't use it to its full ability. The right words paint unfading images in your mind. Doing so? My idea of success.
