On the list of things that do not concern him, approval for his chosen methods hovers near the top. Mao should have seen this coming. If he’d been stronger he would have but his mistake was in not expecting a move.
What a pathetic error. The old ways are the best ways, but only if someone with the necessary strength and dispassion makes decisions from the chair on the top floor. This reclamation -- no, this rebirth -- for the Dragons is long overdue.
The bird settles noiselessly on his shoulder, blood dripping from its talons. All is as it should be.
