Though Ted likes to think of himself as an honest, open person, almost to the point where people tell him not to share too much because really, is it even natural to be so blasé about sharing such personal thoughts and feelings, he’s worse than most of those uptight Purebloods. It’s the shallow, insubstantial things that he has no problem discussing, and can shoot the breeze about how horrible he though it might be a ‘girly class’, Divination is pretty interesting and that he hadn’t been able to sleep for the entire week leading up until the World Cup because he didn’t know how he would have been able to handle the disappointment of the Wimbourne Wasps losing, the more important things are what he keeps silent about.

So when Andromeda rejected him, insisted that what they had was nothing more than a friendship at best, and that she was going to be perfectly happy marrying someone her parents had chosen for her instead of him not because he wasn’t good enough, not because she didn’t care, and not because she wanted to, but because his blood was not pure enough. Because of something he couldn’t help or change. It was comforting to know it wasn’t him, but maddening at the same time that he couldn’t do anything about it. He was used to working as hard as he could to get what he wanted, to being able to change things just because he had enough drive, but to be told that it both wasn’t him and that he couldn’t do anything to keep the one person he felt like he had truly connected with, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with…

Well, he wouldn’t share with anyone how that had kept him from sleep, and the tears that he tried to bury as deep as his feelings. Neither stayed away for long.
