She walked into the mist. The mist that was her past, her future, her everything.
"Don't you get it? I already told you! I don't remember!" she shouted from the hospital bed, staring at the faces around her. Faces she didn't recognize. She'd woken that morning with a scream. She flung herself out of the bed, startled to discover she was naked and the black haired man in the bed was naked as well. He shot out of the bed after her and attempted to calm her. His brilliant green eyes soothed her slightly, but she ran from him, hiding her body and realizing she didn't know who she was.
"You’re Lisa Turpin," they kept telling her. "You're a professor at Hogwarts."
"Well, who is he?" she pointed at the black haired man.
"I'm Harry," he said, coming forward to sit on the edge of the bed near her. "We're set to be married next week."
She looked down at her hand and the diamond solitaire sparkling on her finger. Slowly nodding, she allowed them to tell her life story. They couldn't figure out what had made her forget, but she accepted what had happened to her. A week later, she married Harry as planned, even though it was as if a mist had settled over her, clouding her memories and her life. But she chose to continue.
She walked into the mist. The mist that was her past, her future, her everything.
