Well, I'm finished writing my lecture notes for tomorrow. I think this talk will be fun, I'm including examples from my paper but I also have some new ways of explaining the model. This will be the last linguisticky thing I do in undergrad, and probably for a good long time! Sad... wah wah wah...

Tomorrow I will symbollically cut my ties to the field of linguistics by suspending my subscription to The Linguist List digest. I never read it anyways, it's just an annoying email that comes to my inbox once a night and gets my hopes up that somebody is actually out there and talking to me :) (I've got email? Yay! Oh... damn)

That doesn't mean I won't carry an X-bar in my heart or smirk when I hear Canadian raising... but I'm going to move into my counselling mode... I was thinking about a possible masters topic and might look at how indirect speech acts produced by the counsellor affect a counselling session or a counsellee's perception of the session...but I'm getting ahead of myself here... I still have to give my talk tomorrow, write two exams, get bonked on the head by the chancellor with my degree parchment (I hear he wraps it around a roll of quarters, be careful!), take my GRE exam, move to vancouver, take my prereqs at UBC, get IN to the counselling program, finish my MA coursework, and write my thesis and then present it at a talk (well, a defense in that case)... I guess I better start by going to my talk tomorrow... and so should you!

See you there,
