“You wanted to watch this one, Ian, dear?” Her husband nodded and Victoria turned on the television. The opening credits came on. Room 101. With Paul bloody Merton. And tonight the whinger would be Julian Clary. Ian watched it, wincing everytime they looked at each other in that way, made those comments. Paul was more vulgar than usual. With his best friend. He looked like he was having fun. Ian never noticed appreciation like that on Paul’s face when he made a joke. Only when darling ‘Ju’ did. The real problem, however: why did it even bother Ian that much?
