Thanks - Open was one of the first pictures I took for the challenge, Within took me a lot longer to decide on and, like Two (the swans in an earlier post) was a bonus one I just happened on while I was searching the local countryside for bulrushes! I love the pattern and colours in the snail shell, his shell was only about half an inch across so he was very delicate.

I've never seen a snail here, just lots of slugs!
By the way, Fluffy is adorable!

I am still catching up with interesting comments, so apologies for this being so late!
I hadn't realised that you would not have snails where you are. As you can probably see, they are a common or garden nuisance here, can cause a lot of damage to gardens - and they crunch horribly underfoot if you accidentally step on one after dark as they often come out after dark and hang around on patios and pathways. As they move very slowly, they can't get out of the way. They like damp places, especially.
The French, of course, eat them (yes, yuck!)with lots of garlic butter, but I think that is one particular sort of snail. Doesn't appeal to me at all!

I know how it is catching up on comments. I think the board is even more active than during it's spotlight week!
It sounds to me as if I'm not missing anything with the lack of snails.

Oh, and we have slugs, too. Lots of them.
And on Fluffy's behalf, yes she is adorable and she knows it! But actually, she is the sweetest natured cat I have ever owned and I adore her. However, she is now more than sixteen years old, so we are know we are enjoying some bonus years with her and pamper her accordingly.

Take care of that fluffy!
We have (in addition to Rochester, a.k.a. bigfoot) four cats, well actually one of them is Rochester's cat. Our oldest is 14 & pampered as well. A few years back we lost Burbank, who was the sweetest cat we've ever had, but he was 20 when he died, so no complaints.

Rochester's cat? I like that, seems to me Rochester is a big personality and I've never known a dog who owned a cat! Presumably he lets you look after it for him!
We usually manage to get our cats to 18 or 19, and Misty (my grey who starred in Red and Colourless) is almost 18 now but she is definitely getting frailer at the moment and her balance is beginning to fail.
They give us a lot of love, don't they?

My hubby's family are cat only people, I grew up in a house with cats and dogs, so I think one should have both!
I started a community, if you're interested in seeing pictures of Rochester and his cat, go to dog_cat_pics. Rochester's cat is the Siamese one, he tolerates the orange cat, but Livie is definitely his cat. Of course, as you say, he allows us to maintain her.
