I am already out of a job. It really sucks. I was hoping to keep Victoria's Secret until Feburary, at least that's what they told us. But last week I mysteriously stopped having hours on my schedule. So with no notice or fanfare, I'm jobless again.

It's fine for now, because I've got two cons in February anyway. I can make about as much money from two conventions as I would at a month of part-time minimum wage job anyway.

I won't be able to go to any more cons this year, it looks like. I really really wanted to go to Animazement again, but they already took their sign-ups for Artist Alley, and I was too broke to register.

Plus there's this complication of moving. Mike and I want to move out west to be closer to his family and friends. I have always thought about leaving Mobile to move to a major city anyway, because it would be better for business overall. But that means I probably won't be able to attend any of my regular conventions until next year, because I'll have to save up for plane travel to get back to the East Coast. The good news is that both California and Texas conventions will be in driving distance.

I'm not too upset about moving. My only real friends are already 10+ hours of driving away. I think my mom is going to freak out, but she shouldn't criticize me.

Anyway, I am preparing for Kami-con and Megacon right now. My button maker is working out great. I'm just concerned that I didn't get enough button parts. I got enough to make 100 buttons, but I have already blown through half of them.

They are really cute, though. I have added Edge to my FF4 set, and I'm trying to decide who would make the best 6th member of the party. I am going to try and fill out each set to 6 characters, so that then I can sell sets instead of individual buttons.

I'll probably charge the same price as my keychains ($2) just to make things simple. Maybe I will also bump up the bookmarks to that price so that I can mix & match everything.

I still don't have a $15 or $20 range item. I might try screen printing bags and t-shirts. Maybe I'll collect vintage-style things from the thrift store to put designs on. I wish I had some more equipment but I don't have any money. Plus I'm going to move later this year, and that's a lot of extra stuff to carry.

I want to sell the stuff online, but I'm afraid I'll get in trouble since it's fan art. -_-;; Not that this ever stopped most the successful artists on dA, though.
