Notes: I was struck by the similarity between shikigami and the golem mythos, this is the result.
They'd heard the same rumors as always; the people in the next village are standoffish, with strange customs and some kind of protector. That last had certainly proven true, though what had angered it was anybody’s guess.
"This thing was supposed to be strong, but this is ridiculous!"
"What the hell is this guy? He’s not human or youkai...it's like he's made of stone or something!"
Hakkai was preparing for another attack, when Sanzo called to him almost conversationally from the edge of the fray.
"Hn. Notice anything unusual about that tattoo on his forehead?"
Hakkai paused and watched the creature's face as it easily withstood another powerful hit.
"Gojyo! See if you can restrain it, I need to get in close."
