for a while, i wasn't too sure what i was doing, or where i was going. but lately, things have been looking up. i would be lying if i said i didn't know what has happened to make things so good. everything with kara has taken a dramatic turn, for the much better. for the first time in a while, i feel alive. so many people have accused me of changing over the summer, i had become numb to their stories and advice for life. well, kara stuck around. amazing isn't it? nah, we can't get rid of each other. i've accepted it. probably because i don't ever want to get rid of her. this weekend is a nice example of where our relationship has turned. as a few of you know, i had drill this weekend. josh and i left early friday evening for a quick stop in brighton for a hair cut and updated proof of insurance. then we went out to walled lake and had dinner with the ladies at the increasingly frequented coney island. that night, the two of us drove to selfridge to stay at the unit, because we had to be there by 7:30 in the morning anyway. saturday morning went by fairly easy, and by 2pm, i was released to change and pick up kara for that evening's dinning out. i drove to kara's, showered up, changed, then left for the bruce VFW hall in st clair shores with my beautiful date. and she was too, dressed pretty conservative, but somehow still dead sexy. the beginning of the night was mostly formal, and then we ate dinner, and then... everyone got drunk. imagine, if you can, a bunch of paratroopers.. at an open bar. all of us fuckers in the selections and training platoon sat at two tables with out ladies. we get along fairly well, probably because of all the shit we're going through together. at our table, the order went, starting at my left; kara, service, big joe, mrs. huse (mrs big joe), connor, tracy (mrs. connor), sivil, mrs hamlin, hamlin, and myself. we had a great time. i didn't plan on getting drunk, so i started with something simple like a scotch and coke. but connor had different plans. he snagged sgt meade and i, and took us into the vfw members bar, and ordered a round of jack. a few shots later, i returned to kara. we then danced a little (sorry i'm not a better dancer), and went back to the table, where someone brought another round of jack to the table. afterwards, kara and i danced more. lots of great laughs and pictures. kara drive home, because i was obviously feeling it way too much. i slept on her couch that night, which was much better than the hard floor at the freezing unit classroom. i left that morning for selfridge again, where the S&T then took a combat water survival test, and took the five mile run test. that sucked. moral of that story, kara rules. i had a great time baby.

the other major positive change is that gary is moving in. as i write this, we're in the process of decking out the basement. he's a reliable roomate, which is something this place has needing for a while. he's already signed up for LCC, and already on top of the job front. things are good.

i'm really proud of kara. i find it really ironic how someone i know hasn't been able to find a job for months, when kara has one, goes to school full time, and just got another at b-dubs. she's even graduating early. she's on top of shit, and doing great. but like i said, she's amazing. when i'm around her, i don't give a shit about anything else. she is everything i've ever wanted. i could go on, but she knows.

today, gary and i head out to find remnant carpet for the basement, and something to cover the ceiling. in a few days my computer will be up and running again. in the mean time, i need to get my pay situated with the army. they still owe me a bunch... assholes. i need to contact the unit about the mongomery GI bill, and my tuition. ah, and switch my insurance over. lots to do, and even more i wanted to write.
