so this weekend has been a little on the busy side. my moms surprise party on sat night (thanks to all my friends who came and ate all the food in the end..you guys were a big help- haha), then work work work on sunday (yesterday) and then i hung out with my sister - got to drive the 'vette :) - and then some girls came over and we got ready to go

You posed an interesting question...about putting EFFORT into God. Here's what I found:

Matthew 7:8- For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

To this end, you have to put the effort into finding the door and then knocking.

Also, Proverbs 8:17- I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.

Same sort of deal...sooo I know you prolly knew these, and whether or not they apply to someone of a preexisting faith is questionable, but I think they can be stretched to your case. My spritual advice: Worship is time when you are closest to God. This time is quintessential for a devout Christian. Effectively use this time to communicate and bond with your Creator. well the one for mathew is mainly for unbelievers/new christians in my opinion. i think its referring more to when you first get saved. like we seek him and then he takes us under his wing. but no it could totally be appropriate for my stitch as well. thanks.
