Returning to Base...

((Takes place after this*Some distance out to sea, any human who might happen to be nearby this particular area may wonder why there's a gray fighter jet circling in the sky above for no apparent reason. Or at least, no apparent reason that immediately seems obvious. The jet doesn't appear to be about to leave anytime soon either. Instead, it just ( Read more... )

Blackstar, now relieved of the baby zambonis, returns to the base where he'd gotten them. If that's the main stronghold of the Decepticons on this planet, he'd like to poke around a little and see what he can dig up. She's here on this planet, so he's likely to be here for a little while.

First things first, figuring out just where the slag everything is here would be nice. Maybe there's something in the main control room, a map or something, that he can go look at.

Behind Shifter, the black and silver tetra-alt Seeker seems to step out of thin air. He stands there in the shadows of the doorway, silently watching the Eurofighter for a few moments, trying to decide if it's worth it to bother this strange mech, or just wander off and tour the base for himself.

*Attention mostly occupied while he's busy at the computer, it takes a while for that being-watched-from-behind feeling to seep through and make Echoshift take notice of it. Eventually he pauses and inclines his head ever so slightly to one side, as if listening for something, before simply continuing his work at the console.*

*absentmindedly, without turning around:* Hey, Dusky.

Blackstar quirks one optic at that. So Duskwing roosts here, huh? Should have guessed as much, since Dusky was already here when he showed up for that whole zamboni fiasco. And he didn't seem to mind that all those guys gathered in there had known he was dead. That's good to know.

He absently wonders where Duskwing got himself off to since them. He seemed like a pretty okay mech, and didn't seem to think it was weird to save some other mech's sparklets, which Blackstar knows some of the mechs he used to fly with would have looked at him funny for doing. Maybe this guy knows where Dusky's at. He smiles wickedly and leans against the door frame.

"Actually, that's who I was lookin' for. You seen him around?"

*That manages to get his attention. Echoshift drops whatever it is he's doing and turns around to face Blackstar, taking in the unfamiliar color scheme and Seeker-esque design -- a design which speaks of a Cybertronian alt-form, not an Earth jet such as an F-15.*

*Definately not Duskwing, then.*

*And yet, this mech had evidently managed to enter the room without Echoshift noticing at first. In much the same manner as Duskwing had done before. And it was because of this that Echoshift had mistaken this black and silver Seeker for the purple and dark blue one in the first place: Duskwing had only been able to enter without being noticed because he was a ghost.*

*...wait. Hold that thought.*

*Echoshift rests a hand next to the keyboard and leans casually against the computer console. He tilts his head slightly at Blackstar and adopts an expression of friendly curiosity.*

Mm, I might've done. You a pal of his?

"We've hung out together before," he answers with a knowing little smile. "Name's Blackstar."

Echoshift. *grins* And so have we. You've turned up late enough to miss the canyon-run, you know. Shame, that.

*He gives Blackstar a considering sort of look, still curious.*

So. How'd you manage to get in here? The only Seeker who's managed to sneak up on me like that before is Dusky.

Blackstar gives him a companionably wry grin as he shrugs.

"Dusky showed me how to get in. Guess I'm just naturally quiet."

*not altogether convinced look*

Mm. You might be, but that door behind you isn't.

*the grin still on his face grows a little wider*

Blackstar's grin widens as well. He likes this guy; he's got spunk and doesn't spook easy.

"We all got our own unique talents, y'know."

*it probably helps that he's already met one spook before*

*the grin turns a touch more conspiratorial* Sure, I know alright.

*after a moment:* So then, are you new here or what?

"Pretty much," Blackstar agrees with a nod. "Just in from Cybertron."

'Kay. *a nod, and a thoughtful look. He pushes the initial "Oh great, a total Earth newbie" reaction aside and half-turns back to the computer, fiddling with something there while one half of his attention remains on Blackstar as he talks* Well, if you're planning on staying here at all, first thing you're gonna need is a room. Seeing as you seem to know Dusky already you can have the room next door to his: C-136.

Next, you'll might need to be filled in on some stuff if you don't know it already. How much can you tell me about the status quo on Earth?

"Well, I met Rodimus Prime when I passed Snowcat's sparklets off to him to keep Demolishor from scrapping them," Blackstar replies with a shrug. "So I know all about this truce thing."

*nods* Figured you'd probably know about the truce, but I thought I'd better check-- wait, what did you say?

Blackstar cocks his head curiously at the other mech.

"Snowcat. He had a litter of sparklets. Little zamboni things. With missiles." Because, really? The missiles were cute. "Demolishor was pretty pissed about it all and kept threatening to scrap them, so I took them to Rodimus. Figured with the truce and all, the Autobots could look after them."

He gives Echoshift an odd look. "You didn't know?"

*blinks, evidently surprised*

...No. I didn't know. When did that happen?
