The coming of trouble.

((Continued from Here.))All is quiet aboard the Decepticon undersea base known as Terradessa-1. Not an awful lot tended to happen here very often, so this is a pretty normal situation. Empty corridors and silent rooms stretch out as far as the optic can see in all directions ( Read more... )

Not being constrained to having to travel through the Nexus - quick as it may be - Blackstar beats the new arrivals back to Terradessa-1. He flickers into transparent sight floating along behind Shifter as the Eurofighter goes off to secure what needs securing.

"Sticking around for the fun?" he asks with a purely Decepticon grin.

Echoshift glances over to him whilst continuing to make preparations, thinking that Blackstar is making a reference the fact that he seems to be packing up and high-tailing it outta Dodge before the Stunticons get here.

"Yeah, sure I am," he answers, tone mildly sarcastic. "That's why I'm stowing all my stuff away and then leaving." He hefts another crate into a storage compartment before pausing and turning to face Blackstar again, looking curious. "Why? You planning on staying to spy on them or something when they get here?"

"Spy," Blackstar replies with a grin. "Sure. Spying."

He vanishes, a low chuckle like cyanide velvet filling to compartment, and Shifter should just barely feel something like fingers sliding along one wingtip for an instant, just an instant. A vague shadow flickers just at the corner of his optics - on the opposite side from that phantom carress - for another bare fraction of an instant, and still that chuckle.

// I'm reaaaaal good at spying, after all... //

Echoshift attempts to pin that chuckle to a source and instinctively turns to try and relocate Blackstar as the other Seeker disappears. Needless to say, he's not very successful.

A momentary brush of air against a wingtip and he tenses. Keeping track of a ghost is like trying to keep track of the wind; they're not where you're looking and yet everywhere at once.

//I'm sure you are,// he replies, tone dry, using that same strange not-quite-a-comlink frequency Blackstar is broadcasting through and trying to look unphased. //Joking around aside, what are you planning on doing when they get here? 'Cause the rest of us are gonna have left by then.// Well, that was the plan anyway. Whether the Stunticons ended up arriving before everyone had been able to get out was completely up in the air.

Another faint, lingering touch along Shifter's opposite wingtip, and a flicker of shadow where none should be.

// Have fun, // Blackstar replies cheerfully. Okay, so it's like axe-murderer cheer, but it's cheerful. // Sure you don't wanna stick around and guard your stuff yourself? // Another breath of "wind", another tattered shadow like a bit of discarded cloth fluttering through the wall.

Blackstar chuckles again, the low sound echoing hollowly through the chamber like the all-but-imagined sensation along Shifter's plating. // Or you afraid you can't stay outta sight? //

Yo, Duskwing! We've got visitors inbound to Terradessa-1! An old... roommate of yours, or so the Commander says, Blackstar calls out wickedly, reaching for the other spirit. Wanna help me keep them company?

Yeah? A lazy stirring of interest, and Duskwing suddenly appears behind Echoshift.

"So what's the rush? You gettin' transferred or something, 'Shifter?"

Echoshift scoffs, resisting the urge to shiver. //No,// he replies, finally getting what Blackstar was talking about earlier. //The idea just didn't occur to me before, is all.// He pauses as another flicker of movement catches his optic and he turns to look behind him--

--Oh good, it's Dusky. Someone else to focus his attention on instead, since conversing with Blackstar was beginning to get slightly o___O-inducing.

"Nope, but Terradessa's about to get some temporary visitors and they've got this reputation for smashing stuff up when they're not happy." He pauses to think about that for a second. "Or even when they are happy. I figured I'd better secure some stuff and move it someplace safer just to make sure they don't get their hands on it." He shrugs.

Duskwing tilts his head to one side, looking puzzled. "Yeah, who?"

"The Stunticons," Echoshift informs him, before going back to moving things into storage as if uttering the gestalt team's name had reminded him he should be preparing for their arrival. He blames Blackstar for distracting him in the first place.

"Yeah," Blackstar agrees, phasing back into sight across the room from Echoshift with a faint smirk.

"Commander says that Motormaster was asigned to C-134 once," he adds, watching Duskwing. "And he's pretty beat up now. Commander's not real happy with any of 'em right at the moment."

Duskwing gives Echoshift a blank stare, then his optics narrow and glow redly as Blackstar speaks, and the words penetrate.

"Motormaster." The dark blue and purple ghost Seeker scowls. "Yeah, I remember him."

Echoshift pauses once more and looks from Duskwing to Blackstar and back again.

"I'm guessing I wasn't here at the time, because I don't remember a lotta people making use of C-134 after I got here. Doesn't sound like he'd've made the best of candidates to share quarters with, anyway." He's assuming Duskwing was still present when Motormaster was assigned to the room.

Duskwing stares at Echoshift, but it's not a blank stare this time. It's a very surly stare.

"Worst. Roommate. Ever."

"Payback," Blackstar grins nastily.

Plus, he kinda owed that Dead End guy a little... personal attention for that shot on Strata. But that was his little secret.

"Better finish securing your stuff, Shifter. Commander'll be here with 'em soon."

"Yeah, yeah, almost finished..."

Echoshift backs out from where he's half-buried himself in the storage compartment and closes the door, securing it.

"Alright, I'm done."

Duskwing scowls again. "You don't know Motormaster."

He shakes his head. "He don't scare. He just gets pissed off, and if he can't find you, he finds some poor schmuck that didn't get out of the way fast enough. Really sucks to be dem, you know?"
