A friend of mine who knows both the people who had their hands on my diary has on my request retrieved it for me.
She also tried to find out the background story about it and apparently my handwriting is so bad that they couldn't get much out of it when they tried to read it.
I was told it was brought up when they were talking about things they were ashamed of and the girl brought out the book and my aquaintance recognized me on the photo. He said he had urged her to try to return it even ten years ago.
I have no choice but to believe that this si the truth, because I don't think my friend who retrieved it would neither lie, nor believe them if they did.
At least now I know it's in safe hands until I can get it back.
