ahh the weather and all else in my life that is awesomely intense
It snowed today, all freaking day, blizzard style- crazy wind, a foot or more of snow, good stuff. They cancelled classes; we were lethargic and then did all the metric assload of work that looms as week 10 is finally upon us. Tonight however was Alyssa’s birthday.
The plan had been to trek to Bangor and do civilization based activities, such as olive garden and bowling. The snow foiled those plans seeing as I had to shovel out my car to even get inside it. Therefore we decided to head to Geddy’s. It was pretty much the only place open during the storm. Since we couldn’t get the cars out we had no choice but to walk. Now if nice fluffy snow had still been falling at 6 when we headed out things would have been blissful. Nope, freezing rain and a wind so intense your face went kind of numb from the pellets of ice that kept hitting you. And of course the side walks were not cleared; we were also supremely stupid in not getting snow shoes and we therefore had to trudge and jump through snow and snow mounds. It was intense and I felt hungry, wet, and exhausted by the time we got to Geddy’s. Thankfully, foods, laughter, and good times cancel out ridiculous weather and it was great.
In other news somehow I got selected as a delegation leader for SustainUS at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development- ahh!! I was not really counting on being selected because there were a lot of seriously amazing people who applied, but whoa I will be back at the UN come April! I am uber pumped because although CSocD was great, CSD will be in a policy year and the topic is climate change and I won’t just be going I will be leading a delegation. Whoa, it’ll be intense. Other then that end of term is kicking my ass and I am tired. I don’t want to be because I have work to do but I am pathetically tired. My final prints for photo class are done but that’s about it. Ok I am done, Geena has sprawled herself upon my bed and is making weird noises. I am confused. I am glad that come end of semester none of us can function. ah break will be nice.
