Oooh, I'm intrigued!

What I loved about the Prologue was the glimpse of how Rachel is when she's alone. Rachel is a passionate person. She also talks a lot - she's confrontational, if something/someone is bothering her the world soon knows about it. People like that always have secrets. Deep dark secrets that nobody can know. I can see Rachel keeping her plans to meet her mother from people and so when it all falls apart she has nobody to confide in. I've always thought Rachel's biggest fear is rejection, and to combine her fear of rejection with her idolisation of her mother (which I don't think is an unfair assumption) would completely shatter her.

The only thing that overshadows my love of the Prologue is my love of Part One!

It flows seamlessly from the Prologue. Rachel has been rejected, in a MAJOR way and she's lashing out. The glee club has been her refuge and now she's being made to prove herself. Her safe space has been threatened and she wants acceptance. She wants Will to right her topsey-turvey world and he won't because he's just as stubborn as she is.

You wrote the dynamic between Will and Rachel excellently. They're always going to have a feisty relationship. More than anybody else she just gets to him. Clearly Rachel is acting irrationally (she didn't complain so much before about re-auditioning/he's guaranteed her a spot) and yet he doesn't stop to ask her what's wrong because he doesn't want to lose another round. (Which isn't to say he doesn't care, he does... probably too much ;) but he can't help himself from schooling his expression into something neutral - he doesn’t want Rachel to find out by way of her adoring sidekick that her little trick has nearly reduced him to tears in a matter of moments.)

The end just killed me. Rachel is so broken and betrayed. And Will is broken too... I'm on the edge of my seat!!

(One last thing: God knows he loves the girl *squee*)
