prelude/angry young man- FIRST OF ALL...THE MIC WASN'T ON >:O...I didn't think this really pumped the crowd up enough...but it was great to finally see this guy.  He's been my idol since...well..forever?  I don't think many people knew this song...he should have opened with something else.

my life- It took a while for people to figure this one out...but I knew it from the start.  Seeing his hands fly across the piano like that....mannnn.  And if you listen to the lyrics, seriously..wow.  "I don't care what you say anymore, this is my life...go ahead with your own life, and leave me alone."  That's completely what I'm feeling right now.  After this song, he kept staring up at the ceiling...and Kris and I were like..."whatttt is he doing?"...and finally he goes, "i just noticed how those speakers are hanging by that cable up there...if that ever fell, it'd wipe out a few hundred people...well...anyway...enjoy the concert!"  Hahaha the dome erupted in laughter.

everybody loves you now- Not one of my favorite songs...but I must say it sounds better live.  A lot of the older people got into this one...the younger crowd didn't respond as well.

Billy was so funny.  He goes, "To all you up there, thanks for buying those shitty seats, I really need the money...I have amazing car insurance"  Cause any Billy Joel fan knows he's gotten in 3 car accidents in the past 2 years.  What a crazy guy.

ballad of billy the kid- Hadn't heard this song on cd before, but I'd seen/heard it on youtube.  I love the piano in this one, it truly makes the song.  He also clicked his tongue...I wonder if he did that when he was recording it?

new york state of mind- Ahhh everyoneee cheered when he started playing the first few notes...it's a crowd favorite.  And, he changed the lyrics to "I don't care if it's SYRACUSE or Oceanside."  Thanks, Billy...but we all know you change the lyrics to whatever city you play in.  This song was kinda hard for me to listen to, though...because Christie had been learning this on the piano...which brought back feelings of annoyance/anger of being blown off.

summer, highland falls- He introduced this song that "doesn't even have the title in the lyrics."  Billy's voice hasn't changed one bit over the years.

the entertainer- FINALLY the crowd started responding more.  I think Billy was starting to get worried that the crowd wasn't into him.  Billy Joel IS the entertainer.  No arguments.

vienna- I was so excited he played this song.  Sounds just like the cd.  Kim was excited he played this, too...because he hadn't in the previous two concerts she'd been to.  "You got your passion, you got your pride, but don't you know that only fools are satisfied"  I love this song.

zanzibar- Not my favorite song...but hey, it's Billy Joel, and he can play whatever the hell he wants.

goodnight saigon- I thought immediately of Jackie when I heard the helicopter.  Just a day before, we were listening to one of Billy's amazing cd's, when this song came on...and we said at the same time, "This song makes me soooo sad."  It's an amazing song about vietnam, and how the soldiers "would alllllll go downnnnn togetherrrr....yes we would allllll go downnnn togetherrrrr."  Billy's voice is amazing...the band, and the lights...were incredible.

allentown- Started off with just the train whistle, and the crowd cheered.  We all knew it was Allentown.  Well, most of us.  Hahaha Kristian prolly just thought a train was going by or something :-p.  This is one of my dad's favorite songs...so I got a sound clip of it on my cell.

miami 2017- "Seen the lights go out on broadwayyyy."  This is my new favorite Billy song.  I wasn't expecting him to play this one...and I don't think anyone else did either.  The piano in this song is great.  I really wish I had taken a video of this one.

movin out- He introduced this song saying "this song did so well, they made it into a broadway play...but now there's a lawsuit surrounding the play...did you guys know that?  Oh...maybe I shouldn't have said anything..."  I can't believe the crowd didn't know that it was made into a broadway play.  I swear I was the only one who cheered.  (Okay, along with Kim...)  But still, come on, you can't call yourself a true Billy Joel fan if you don't know that.  "Aww cause workin' too hard can give you a heart attack ack ack ack ack ack ack you outta know by nowwww."  One of my favorites.

shes always a woman- Slowed it down a little, and FINALLY people started singing loud enough so Billy could hear.  I'll never forget the look on his face...his eyes kinda popped out a little..it was like he was surprised that the crowd knew the words.

i go to extremes- Yeah, Billy Joel can play the piano with his butt better than I can play with my hands.  He definitely got the crowd into this one.  A lot of people were singing, and Billy really looked like he was having fun.

captain jack- Jackie informed me later that there were people down on the floor actually smoking pot.  So obviously, this was a crowd pleaser.  "But Captain Jack will getcha highhh tonightttt..."  You bet.

keepin the faith- This song sounds even better live.  He let the crowd take "Yeah yeah yeah yeah keepin' the faith."  I think this one could be a new favorite of mine.

river of dreams- I was so excited he played this song.  He took a little break during the song to do a little dance, and caught the audience by surprise...making us sing "In the middle of the nightttt, I go walkin' in my sleeepppp..."  He liked it.

matter of trust- Finally, he got off his piano stool, and strapped on his guitar.  "A 1, a 2, a 1, 2, 3, 4"  is all it took to get the crowd pumped for this song.  I was so happy he played this song.  I was watching a concert of his in Yankee Stadium with Kim earlier, and I thought of her going crazy.

we didnt start the fire- I love how he introduced this song, "This song really isn't about much of anything..but it helped some history students make the grade..."  And right before he started singing, he goes, "There's some crazy shit goin' on backstage..idk what's going on..."  Hahaha I love him.

And then, right in the middle of the song...this random guy from this tv show..."american choppers(?)" was in the middle of the stage with this large red motorcycle...which made me chuckle because I knew Billy loved motorcycles.  But what kinda made me mad...was that the crowd went crazier for these 3 dudes than Billy Joel.  So these guys gave him the motorcycle...and named it "The Billy Bomb."  Then Billy told us his roadie, "Chainsaw" had to bless us with some religious music.

highway to hell- So Chainsaw got the dome rocking.  It was kind of sad that the dome was more excited for this guy than Billy.  But Billy played guitar during this song, so I guess it was okay.  I think Kim and I would be way better roadies, anyway...we make cookies.

big shot- Billy's so gangster.  He put a red (OKAY KRISTIAN, MAYBE IT WAS ORANGE :-P)..hat on backwards...and started rapping one of my favorite songs.  He's such a nerd.  He was like dancing around and stuff..I dont even know what he was doing.  But the crowd definitely responded positively.

still rock n' roll to me- Kris knew this song!  I was so proud!  "What's the matter with the clothes I'm wearing, cantcha tell that your tie's too wide?"  Ahhh I live for this music.

you may be right- The glass shattered, and right away the crowd went crazy.  I was sad..because I knew it was his last song until his encore.  "You may be right...I may be crazy...but it just may be a lunatic you're lookin' forrrr"  Billy was rockin' out.  It was great.

"THANK YOU SYRACUSEEEE"  Yeah right, Billy...we all knew you weren't done.  However, he decided to be tricky and walk off stage....only to come back to a dome full of lighters and opened cell phones.  We knew we couldn't leave a Billy Joel concert without hearing "Only the good die young", "Scenes from an italian restaurant", and "PIANO MAN"

only the good die young- I was so mad that everyone sat back down.  DURING THE ENCORE, EVERYONE IS SUPPOSED TO STANDDDD.  He's freaking BILLY JOEL...DO NOT SIT DOWN!  I was pretty upset, and Billy didn't seem too pleased, either.  But he kept singing, and I kept singing, and Kim kept singing (she told me).  So it was all good.

Billy walked away from the piano, but the crowd was stilllll cheering.  He kept walking farther away, so I started to boo, knowing that this is what the crowd did in Madison Square Garden twice.  I swear, Kim and I were the only ones who knew what to do.  Finally, we started cheering as he walked closer to the piano, and booing when he walked away.  He's such a nut.  He knows he owns us.

scenes from an italian restaurant- Billy's sober!  He changed the words to "no rose this time, perhaps a bottle of gingerale instead..."  I called Johnny during this song, he told me to.  It's his favorite song, but he told me later he couldn't really hear anything because the crowd was going crazy.  "Brenda and Eddie were the popular steadies and the king and the queen of the prom..."  I was getting sad...knowing that the piano man himself would be playing the last song next.

piano man- Billy got up and started walking away from the piano.  The crowd was going crazy...but they weren't exactly cheering.  But they weren't booing, either.  It was kind of weird.  Billy looked at his watch, and pointed...implying that it was getting late, and there was no time to play anymore songs.  Billy's such a tease.  Finally, he sat down at the piano..and strapped on his harmonica.  The crowd was CRAZY.  Right when we thought he was starting the most popular song of all time, he played some crazy little baseball thing on the piano.  Yeah, Billy, we got it, you own us.  NOW PLAY THE SONG!!!  He finally played the harmonica, and the crowd made so much noise.  EVERYONE was singing.  Billy even let us take the last chorus ourselves...he just kinda sat there and let us serenade him.

He thanked us again, and his last words of the night were, "AND DON'T TAKE ANY SHIT FROM ANYBODY!!!"

Billy Joel owns me.  My dad thinks he'll go on tour again.  He's 56, but if he can still fill a dome of over 38,000 screaming fans, he'll definitely be back.  And plus, he would have announced that this was his last tour.  I hope Kris had fun.  I know I did.  I'm still extremely hurt over what Christie did to me, but I'm extraordinarily happy I still got to go.  Kim, Jackie, Allison, and I all vowed to go to at least 3 of his shows whenever he tours again.  FRONT ROW BABY.  We love Billy.
