Notes/Warning: I don't really know if the meaning of the red tulip is correct, I just finished a book and they used the tulip as a symbol of what I have in here..I don't want to spoil it in here though..

A tulip.

That’s all Caspian had left of her. He always wished that he could have had more to remember her by but all he had was the red tulip. Sure he had paintings and sculptures in his reach but he couldn’t feel Susan in any of those, no matter how hard the artist tried to capture the true essence of her. The only thing he had of Susan was that one single flower. Caspian still remembers when she gave it to her, one day he will always remember, for as long as he lives.

“Caspian!” Susan exclaimed, “Put me down!”
Though it was meant to come out more forceful and queen-like, Susan was overcome in giggles. Caspian was laughing just as much as she, maybe even more. He would not consent to put her down though, he wanted to just take advantage of having his arms around her slender body and holding her close.
“I am sorry my queen, but I can not allow that.”
Caspian started running down the hill with Susan safely in his arms. Both young royals were overcome with so much laughter that it made Caspian lose is balance, sending them both rolling to a stop.
“Well, that was your best idea yet today Caspian.”
Caspian did care if her comment was coated in sarcasm, all he cared about now was spending as much time as he could with her. He walked over to her, held out his hand and they started walking toward the river.
“Come my queen, there is something I wish to show you.”
“And whatever would that be Caspian?”
Caspian chuckled and just kept walking with her. He could have walked like that for the rest of his life, just her hand in his, together. But Caspian came to an abrupt halt and covered Susan’s eyes with his palms.
“Keep your eyes closed now.”
Caspian steered her toward the small garden of wildflowers he found and uncovered her eyes.
“Oh, Caspian, its beautiful!”
And with that, she ran into the midst of the flowers and started to smell all of them at once. But then her eyes came to a halt on the red tulips. Caspian watched as her expression changed and when she bent down to pick a red tulip she turned and smiled at him. Walking back towards him she held the red tulip out for her.
“This is for you, and if ever I leave you, promise me you will find out what this flower means, but only if I leave. Promise.”

And so she left him, left him with nothing but the red tulip. And when she left he did indeed look up the meaning of the red tulip. And because of its meaning did Caspian cherish it more than ever. Red tulips will always be his favorite flower. The flower of undying love.
