Of course his note betrays not a jot of the fear that I imagine he must be feeling, but rather talks about the two books he's working on and hopes for more to follow.
It sounds foolish to wish for a mis-diagnosis, so here's to hoping that the progress of the disease is infinitely slow and leaves him in possession of himself for as long as possible.
