Summit Entertainment Blows

"I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct NEW MOON," said Hardwicke. "Directing TWILIGHT has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel-- it is a great story."

Thus as has been done before with many successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for NEW MOON.

Alright.  The little teenage girl in me loves these books and the movie.  But what the fuck Summit.  Now that they have a successful movie, it seem like their just going to screw it up entirely...ravage the hell out of it.  Heaven for fucking forbid that Catherine Hardwicke wants to make a good second movie.  It's not like the fans will be, "OH NO!  They can't have the movie out ASAP!  I'll completely forget about it!"  Fucking idiots.  The books are tangible, they are there to remind us that, "Hey I have another movie to look forward to."  The thing they don't get, is fans care more about consistency than how fast they can get the movie out.  Now, however, I get to look at it like this. "Hey let's see how much they can fuck up this entire series."
Not only that, but what they said about "as has been done before with many successful franchises..." LIKE WHO?!  Ex. 1.  Spiderman.  Spiderman one was pretty decent.  It all unraveled nicely. It had a good direction.  Then they decided to change directors.  The Spiderman Franchise became complete shit.  The second one was alright, but really not that good.  I don't think I've even sat around to see all of it.  The third one was a complete cluster-fuck of shit happening every five minutes.  I literally thought I was going to have a seizure with the amount of plot lines.
Now Ex. 2.  The Batman series.  This franchise STAYED with Christopher Nolan.  The first one was pretty good, and I watched it a couple times.  But as everyone knows, the second one was FANTASTIC!  It was a huge money maker, and all around an amazing movie.  You wanna know why?  Because Christopher Nolan was given time.  He was given time to see what he didn't like in the first movie, and expand in the second.  Keeping the same director and allowing them the amount of time they want let's them grow as a director.  It was a privilege to watch that movie.  It was just an all around amazing movie with amazing actors.

So tell me Summit Entertainment, did you really do your research when you started telling people that every successful film franchise does this?  I would've chose the wording a little bit differently.  Maybe....mediocre film franchise....or inconsistent film franchise....something along those lines.
