To all of you who told me to go vote today, you forget that I am a registered member of the Grand Old Party (that means I'm a Republican dummies).
Granted, I do not approve of what the Republicans in this country have done over the past 7 years, but I certainly don't believe that the Democrats, had they been more in control, would have done much better. Our government is run by big business supporters of both the Democratic and Republican parties, not the people.
I have become disillusioned with politics as of late, and with most of America's citizens, who care more about voting along party lines than actually researching candidates and their beliefs. Today's voters can be so easily duped into voting for a strong supporter of their opposing party, who has switched from one to the other, just to win the popular vote.
I agree that we should still vote, even if the outcome will be skewed to what ever those with the most power want it to be. It is great exercise for many who sit at home and do nothing all day, to get up and get to the polls.
Long live Democracy... or would it be more appropriate if I said R.I.P. Democracy?
