A little story about tomorrow...

I realized something today during my Global Studies class; there's a children's story by Dr. Seuss that really holds true to the election tomorrow. The book is "Horton Hears a Who". I'm sure you've all heard it at one point or another in the early parts of your lives, but read on and I think you may agree with me here. The scene where Horton the elephant is caged up, the other animals of the jungle are trying to dump the clover he is protecting in a pot of water and all the whos living on the clover, but are too small to be noticed by none of the animals, save for Horton. At the end, we learn that one small young who is the only one of the whos not shouting out to get the other animals to stop. The main who, the mayor grabs the boy and encourages him to give a big shout to join all the others. When the young who yells away, the combined noise of every one of all the whos living on that clover finally reach the ears of the other animals in the jungle, who then realize that the whos really DO exist and stop trying to drown them. The lesson we learned from the story is that it doesn't matter WHO you decide to vote for on election day, just as long as you vote your opinion, no matter what it may be.

Otherwise, jungle animals will invade our towns and drown us in pots of boiling water. ;)

Only kidding, of course.

(Now then, this part is only my own opinion; this IS a journal, after all. As for my vote, I'm voting for John Kerry/ John Edwards because Kerry appears much more competent in matters relating to foreign policy, including mending relations with international allies and using peaceful measures to safeguard american interests, while Edwards comes from a working class background, so the administration would favor a domestic policy that would put interests of the impoverished and struggling families of America before the interests of the preppy whiny rich families that make up the top 1% of the American population.)

With all that done and said, I urge all of you reading this to get out, bring a game boy or iPod if the lines are long and cast those ballots! As close as the predictions are, every single one of those votes will make a difference!
