Those practices are atrocious. As you say, there's a line between freedom of religion, and hurting someone else against their will. Gah.

The pictures made me feel pukey. The rest just makes me want to smack people who think this is about a different way of worshipping God. IT IS NOT, YOU PSYCHOS!

When I was a kid in California, a baby died because the father went nuts and told his wife that it wasn't God's will for them to eat, so both she and the baby starved. Mom barely survived, Dad went to prison. I have no idea what cult religion they were, but the response to that was overwhelmingly one of horror. Why isn't horror the natural response to this crap?!

And from what i can see, these little girls are all 'prettied up' with makeup. GODS.

Oh, they only have makeup for these "special" pictures. Makeup is strictly verboten in this community.
