Yesterday was absolutely amazing. The weather was insanely nice, so Josh and I took momma's Cabrio and headed to Williamsburg. We originally planned to drive on Colonial Parkway and enjoy the day. But we decided to go to the Pottery and Factory Outlets instead. We spent hours there and barely spent $40! We bought lots of cookies, I got some hot tea, and I bought THE MOST ADORABLE kitchen gadget I'll ever own in my lifetime.
The Cherry ChomperHow freakin cute is that? Josh thinks I'll never use it, but I reminded him of the Cherry Danish I made last year... it took close to a half hour to pit all those cherries with a knife! Once cherry season rolls around again, I'm gonna be all smiles pitting my cherries with this cute little guy!
We left the Pottery and drove around looking for things to do. We stopped at the Williamsburg Outlets, walked in, looked around, bought a Cherry Pepsi from a drink machine, and then we left... interesting. We drove down to Prime Outlets, but it was packed with horrid looking people with way too much money and not enough sense to know not to walk in the middle of the aisle in a parking lot... parking lots are where cars drive... sidewalks are for people! Your True Religion shopping bags don't give you a right to walk wherever you D@#% well please. I really wanted to go into the kitchen stores, but there were literally NO parking spaces anywhere to be found. We left slightly disgruntled and drove over to the hugetastic Yankee Candle store. Rediculously over-priced candles, but definitely a cool store to walk around in for a half hour. The snow machine was the best part! Next, we were hungry, so we checked our Entertainment book for coupons and restaurant ideas. We narrowed it down to two, either the Library Tavern or Green Leafe Cafe. Urbanspoon said the first was too smoky and food was just 'ok.' We decided on Green Leafe, but couldn't figure out the parking situation....... Plus we were in the mood for a more romantic setting. SO, we went all the way back over the Carrabba's right beside the Yankee Candle store. It was delicious! At first we were nervous because we don't usually like chain restaurants..... But when they brought that delicious dipping oil with the bread AND we found out it was happy hour and Shock Top was on draft.... it quickly became a great dinner! Josh had cannelloni and I had a rigatoni dish. Both were insanely good, and we practically shared the whole time! We got their Limoncello Bread Pudding for dessert, and oh my lord it was the best bread pudding I've ever tasted! We were both so full, but we couldn't stop eating it! Our total bill came to less than $50 before tip... AWESOME! On the drive home we stopped at a few country stores, abused a KFC for it's public restroom, and sang unnecessarily loud to every song we knew on the radio.
The best day I've had in a long time, and all thanks to the awesomest boy in the world... who, btw, just shaved off his incredible beard!!!!!
