★LM.C Recommendations★

Feb 02, 2009 18:51

THIS IS OLD, I NEED TO RE-WRITE THIS/ADD NEW SHIT.
MY TASTES HAVE CHANGED SINCE WRITING THIS, SOOOO. D:

Soo, for some reason it seems that people come to me and ask me "What LM.C songs would you recommend?" either since they began listening to them recently and don't know exactly which route to take, or friends had recently told them/got them into LM.C, and they need guidance.
I still find it a little odd that I've been asked this more than once, but ... I guess I seem like I've got some knowledge on the subject of LM.C.
And I decided to write a guide on what I recommend, so if anyone else asks, they can refer to the guide.
And I must say up front, that I'm very very biased on LM.C, I think all their music is great. But there are some songs I like more than others.
Please do be aware that I'm not a fan of very slow songs, so I will probably not recommend any of them, but I will have a listing of slower songs if that's more your speed.
I also want to apoligize up front for not mentioning musical/guitar/etc parts (I do refer to the vocals a lot, but I've also have a huge thing for maya) and I'm sorry; this guide is a and always will be a work-in-progress.

★LM.C GUIDE★

UPDATED:  February 3, 2009

Trailers [Gold] - Release:2006.10.04

I think the only song off of Trailers [Gold] that I would actually recommend would be @FUNNY PHANTOM@, I love how very fast paced it is. Its very hard to keep track of if you're attempting to sing along, I can tell you that much.
I guess I'd also have to recommend ☆Rock the LM.C☆ , but its not really my favorite song, though I guess it'd be considered a LM.C "classic."

Trailers [Silver] - Release:2006.10.04
All I have to say is: little Fat Man boy, listen to it, and watch the PV if you can. I absolutely love the PV for this song, it is crazy. But I also love that ... I guess you'd call it stop-animation. Its all claymation, and I love how, er...accurate they got the clay figures of maya and Aiji. You'll see what I mean if you watch the video, I think it gives you a look into their "personalities." (well, they're on-stage ones, anyways).

OH MY JULIET. - Release:2007.01.31
OH MY JULIET. indeed. I just love this song as well, but I believe it was my very first LM.C song, and it always seems that one has a soft spot for their first song by their fave band.
And even though the video is kinda plain and nothing special, I'd suggest watching it, too. But I'd suggest for anyone slightly interested in LM.C to watch all of their videos, just because I love them all. <3
I also recommend the second track on this disc, called Haunted House make a Secret. The little tune they use throughout the song is so catchy, you'll have it stuck in your head for a very long time.

GLITTER LOUD BOX - Release:2007.03.07
Released in March of 2007, GLITTER LOUD BOX was LM.C's very first mini-album, which ended up being the only thing they had put out resembling an album until November of 2008.
Songs I'd most recommend from GLITTER LOUD BOX?? Well, though its not much of a song, I love the opener NO. 9. Its got the beat from "We Will Rock You" and a little classical in the mix (forgive me, I can't remember the name of it). Its just really fun. Same goes for CRAZY A GO GO, not really a song, but fun. But I think CRAZY A GO GO just really brings back good memories of the LA show for me. <3
Others from GLITTER LOUD BOX? I'd have to say *BOOST+BUSTERz* as well. Just another fun beat, maya's voice is a bit, harsher than in other songs, which may or may not be a plus for people, depending on your tastes.
And I also recommend Yellow Beauty. Not really slow enough I think to make my "Slower Songs" listing, I think its worth giving a listen, I really do enjoy this song from time to time.

BOYS & GIRLS - Release:2007.05.23
Though its not my favorite song, I'd definitely recommend BOYS & GIRLS, not only just because it was another single release of theirs, but I also love the classical guitar solo.
But I'm also a nerd, because I used to be in the orchestra back in grade school, and we played Cannon in D, which is what Aiji's playing in the guitar solo, and it just takes me back. That, and I'm too busy going "ohoh! I can play that on the violin!"

LIAR LIAR / Sentimental PIGgy Romance - Release:2007.10.10
LIAR LIAR and Sentimental PIGgy Romance were a double single release, both songs on both discs, but each disc came with its first songs PV. (ex. If LIAR LIAR was the first song on the disc, it came with the LIAR LIAR PV) I recommend both LIAR LIAR and Sentimental PIGgy Romance. I also recommend both of their PVs, for the fact that I absolutely love the LIAR LIAR PV to death, and the Sentimental PIGgy Romance PV is so insanely cute, you'll get cavities from just watching it. Seriously, my jaw about hit the floor when I first saw the Sentimental PIGgy Romance video. The animated pig and lion are too cute for their own good.

Bell the CAT - Release:2007.12.12
Oh, Bell the CAT. I love the song, the beat, maya's voice, the PV, everything. I recommend this one a thousand times over, and its PV as well, the thought of LM.C leading some type of commotion down the street with maya as their ringleader just seems perfect. And I also love their outfits, especially maya's hat. But I've taken a love to all of his hats, so that's no surprise there.

JOHN - Release:2008.02.20
JOHN JOHN JOHN!!! This has to be my favorite LM.C song ever! The beat is freaking awesome, and the fact that they use old school Mario sound effects I think adds even more to my love of this song. And the PV is amazing, I definitely recommend the JOHN PV, go watch it ASAP! But just to be warned, there's a ton of flashing colors, so don't watch if this will bother you. But if it won't, why aren't you watching it now! xD!
And, love for maya's many glorious hats, I absolutely lovelovelove his crown.
I also have a small obsession with crowns, too. >_>

88 - Release:2008.06.04
If you've learned of LM.C through the anime Katekyo Hitman Reborn!(sp?), you'll definitely know this song. (I actually heard of the anime via LM.C, but this is because I barely ever watch anime >_>) I recommend 88 along with the second track on the single, ...WITH VAMPIRE.
Now, I know I've barely recommended the second song on the disc, but this is because most of them are slower songs, and those aren't really my favorites. Don't get me wrong, I like them, just not as much as their more faster, happier, upbeat counterparts. (And by upbeat, I don't mean lyric-wise). But ...WITH VAMPIRE, in my opinion anyways, is really awesome. Its pace is very quick, another song that's very hard to keep up with if you're attempting to sing.

GIMMICAL☆IMPACT!! - Release:2008.11.05
First-ever album release from LM.C. It includes 10 new tracks (including songs like interludes and whatnot) and 5 "old" songs from singles (Bell the CAT, Sentimental PIGgy Romance, JOHN, LIAR LIAR, and 88, which are all still recommended<3).
From the new tracks, I'd recommend, quite a few, actually.
Rainbow Magic Orchestra is just NO. 9, but a new fresh twist on it, give it a listen.
CHEMICAL KING-TWOON is another must. Not just because its the song with the PV on the disc (out of all the new ones, anyways), the song is also good too. Though I didn't take the time earlier to record this (I might go back and revise this a little later, I'll note revisions) the guitar in the beginning of this song is just quite amazing, the intro. I really love it. I also recommend the PV, though I don't recommend leopard print. I do not like it, though its been slowly growing on me, damn you maya!! I also highly recommend watching the making-of of CHEMICAL KING-TWOON. Its very funny, and if you'd also like to see maya lose his shorts, another good reason to watch. (its very, very funny).
I also like Galileo and JOKER -my name is-, I recommend them to anyone like a more rough sounding LM.C, not to anyone who only likes LM.C via 88 style.

Also, is it just me, or does anyone else (hardcore LM.C fan or otherwise) hear a Miyavi influence in maya's voice for JOKER -my name is-? I just was wondering, hoping I'm not totally crazy. xD

I definitely recommend TABOO, I just love this one as well. Its got a real jazzy feel, and this another aspect that makes me love them even more. So take a listen!

SUPER GLITTER LOUD BOX - Release:2008.11.05
SUPER GLITTER LOUD BOX is bacially a "re-do" of the original GLITTER LOUD BOX, with a slightly new twist, and one truly new song, called La Dee Da, which I highly recommend. I freaking love La Dee Da, I don't really know how to describe why, I just can tell you to take a listen. <333

★★★

★Galileo [on GIMMICAL☆IMPACT!! album]*

*-This is a possible for harshness, its not totally the whole way through, but the rapping makes me think to put it here.

★★★

Anyways, that concludes my LM.C guide for now! I'll always be adding to it every time they come out with new music! <3
Please let me know what you think via comment, and if there's anything, any detail I've got wrong, also feel free to let me know! I'd like to have this guide as correct as possible.
