So we made a brochure in Desktop Pulblishing class and over spring break were sposed to actually put it together. Basically, the process is that you take plain sheets of paper, staple them like a book, print out your brochure pages and spray mount them to the plain pages. After gluing them on you cut all the excess off the pages of the book at the same time so theyll all be the right size with an x-acto blade.
Problem?
IT DOESNT WORK. OUR PROFESSOR EVEN COMPLETELY FUCKED IT UP WHEN SHE DID THE DEMO.
Coz youre basically completely blind cutting the shit. You spend an hour PAINSTAKINGLY putting the thing together so you can slice it and hope to JESUS that when you open it up it wont be fucked. Thing is, its ALWAYS fucked. I mean...for Christs sweet sake. I tried SO HARD OMFG SO HARD to get it PERFECT. PERFECTLY aligned, perfect EVERYTHING...and I slice it....AND ALL THE PAGE NUMBERS ARE CUT IN HALF! HOW THE HOLY HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN?
Its a stupid, tedious, LAME and WASTEFUL way to do it. Im sorry but Im doing it my own way next time because Im really tired of wasting shitloads of EXPENSIVE paper and EXPENSIVE ink just so it can end up in the fucking recycling bin. NO THANK YOU. Im cutting all the pages to the right size induvidually, cutting the blank pages to the right size, and PASTING THEM ON IN A WAY IN WHICH I CAN ACTUALLY TELL IF THEYRE LINING UP. AND THEN I CAN TRIM THEM AND WONT RUIN THE WHOLE FUKING PAGE COZ I CAN ACTUALLY SEE WHAT THE HELL IM CUTTING! GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
