He did not die in the fight against Romero. If you have the special Albel ending, you meet him after that.
In fact you never see the fight against Romero, so you can't know at all.

Wow, I never thought, you'd answer ^ ^

They even defeated persons, which created them, although they originally are only programmes, why should he loose against Romero?

I don't want to argue with you. It's just that in almost every book and every game my favourite characters die.
Albel did not, at least it was not told. So I was very happy about this circumstance.
I love your characterization, because everything is just as I thought, too, except for Albels death.
And because I was so happy that finally my favourite character did not die, I became very frustrated, when I read that.

Well, I didn't want to bother you, It would just have felt wrong not to tell my opinion, sorry.

I don't mind explaining myself. :) It's rude not to answer, right?

The final battle had been in a secluded area 4D-space, right? Which means they were on even ground. And simply put, the party existed out of 8 people. Albel fought Romero alone. Not to imply Albel's weak, though. The thing is, Albel's strong but not invincible. Defeating the Creator doesn't make him and the others the strongest in the universe and able to defeat everyone that crosses them.

But you're right in not knowing for certain whether he died or not. I take this as something that could be taken differently.

Opinions and sharing them are totally fine. But yeah, at the time I thought it'd be interesting to play him post-death. If I'd ever app him at another RP I even might decide to go with the fact he lived. It all depends on the setting and what I think would be the most interesting.

No offense taken and no need to apologize. :)

Ah I got another idea,
What the fight against Romero could be about.
They used a strong enemy and on top of that, they did not show whether he lost or won, as a means to tell that his struggle to become the strongest still has not ended.
He ridiculously tries to become stronger and stronger, because he still can't completely make up with himself.

If they showed the ending of the fight, there would have been a different meaning in it, such as that he failed to manage his life if he lost or that he finally did it, if he won.
Not showing the ending might just be a stylistic device, where it doesn't matter what the outcome of the fight is.

I don't know, if this was understandable...I usually talk German after all ^ ^

I guess, you're right.
It's been ages since I played the game, too.
But the scene is at youtube.
It's odd. I watched Albel's scenes in English and in Japanese.
His english voice is rather funny, I like it. But his japanese voice is one of an ordinary fellow... boring XD
The one sentence, I always laugh about while playing the game is, when you are ambushed: "An ambush, ey!"
His pronouncing is so weird, I just have to laugh, so that everyone around thinks, I'm crazy XD
Well, maybe I am...^ ^

So...finally, I have to say, that I really liked to talk to you about Albel.
At least I had to write English again after a while, good practice. Recently I only learn Japanese...

Thanks for sparing some time for me.
And Happy New Year! (Although it might be a bit late for that sentence ^ ^)

I prefer his English voice too. I think it suits him better. :)
