(no subject)
Time seems to have gone very fast since we moved here, about 5 weeks ago now. In other ways it feels like I have been here forever. But now it is starting to feel like we live here - I stopped having to remind myself when walking through Berlin that I don't have to go home in a few days!
Work on the house is progressing well, ground floor and upstairs are just about sorted, the cellar is even fairly straight now, amazingly considering it looked like a refuse site just a week ago. We have builders in this week doing some jobs for us and the first lot of family arriving tonight from England to visit for 5 days.
So far, we've seen two excellent concerts. Eisbrecher was awesome, I love their albums but they project a good atmoshere live too. They played a few new songs, lots of old ones too. Alexx is a good front man on stage, not Till, but then who else could be? He chats a lot, no idea what about, I hardly understood a word! Also we saw Killing Joke who I have loved for a long time. This concert was a little odd as they just played their first two albums, start to finish. The first two are not really my fave apart from a few songs, so I would have preferred a more varied set list - but it was good seeing Jaz being Jaz again.
The cats all seem well settled too although a bit freaked by having builders working outside on their territory. Tomorrow they'll be even more freaked, with builders outside and visitors inside, they are really not sociable cats.
We now have a few days of playing tour guides and sightseeing. Its Oktoberfest in Berlin too so I think we must sample lots of beer.
