Shuffle your Pod. Note the first ten songs. Scribble whatever they make you think about.
1. "Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride"- Various Artists
This song is one of my many Disney songs on my iPizzy. I've always been enthralled with the Hawaiian culture. Their language is so pretty (not to mention the landscape). I would very much like to visit one day.
2. "Lyin' Eyes" - The Eagles
Hanging out with my parents and my neighbors (my other parents) at my old house. Hanging out in the driveway; hanging out by the pool. I knew all the words to this song, as well as all the other songs from the 70's/80's, etc. by the time I was 7. Fantastic music.
3. "Warning"- Incubus
Incubus brings back so many memories. They were one of the first "rock" bands I got into. They always remind me of Alan. I believe he is the only one who can fully understand the deepness of my love for Incuby. Listening to Morning View in his car is one of my favorite memories. The summer before I went to college, when I was stuck in Indiana with no friends and nothing to do I listened to Morning View and A Crow Left of the Murder literally non-stop.
4."Itchy Asshole" - Dane Cook
Not a song, but still worth talking about. Dane Cook is the most hilarious man in the world. He reminds me of hanging out, listening/watching. Also reminds me of when I listen to him on the way to class. I laugh out loud (very loud) and everyone thinks I'm weird. Haha it's the little things in life that are fun.
5."Evil Angel"- Rufus Wainwright
I believe Rufus Wainwright to be one of the greatest musicians of all time. This is from his self-titled album which, I think, is his best one. This song portrays the exact feelings that it sets out to. Genius work. I got his albums for Christmas a few years ago and I listened to them nonstop for months afterwords.
6. "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" - Elton John
Good heavens I love Elton more than I can explain. This song speaks to me in particular. I used to just sit listen to this and a few other of his songs with my eyes closed, just feeling the music. Kinda nerdy, but so important at the same time. To just sit there, relax, and feel the music. It's quite a release.
7. "Vienna" - The Fray
Another slow song. The Fray is my newest favorite. I already know that it will be a long-term relationship between us. If you're ever in a chill mood, I highly recommend this song. I used to listen to them nonstop when I would "do homework" on my computer last semester. And by "do homework", I obviously mean playing on the computer. Boy do I have ADD.
8. "Keep Me in Your Thoughts" - Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers
This reminds me of the OAR concert I went to with the Pooks and Angie (and Tim and Tom and Genny). They're by far one of the best local bands I've heard. I actually liked them better than OAR (I'll probably get shot for that haha).
9. "Papa's Got a Brand New Bag"- James Brown
I downloaded this on one of my old school music sprees. Everytime I hear it I think of Mrs. Doubtfire. Can't remember what part it's from, but boy is that a good movie.
10. "Loch Lomond/Amazing Grace" - Wyndbreakers
Part of my stash of Irish music. Loch Lomond is one of my all-time-favorite Irish songs. I heard of the Wyndbreakers from my dad and his friend (my other dad) when they went to an Irish pub one night and got smashed in the true Irish style. Awesome. Unfortunately, Amazing Grace on bagpipes is not as good of a memory. It always reminds me of funerals. And that is what I'm ending on. So sad.
