I have to posted stuff for my sociology class. And the post he wanted us to right about was to go to Sexual Assault Awareness week, which takes place this week here or read an article about it. Here's my post about it:

I am extremely proud to say I just finished training with The Center for Sexual Assault Survivors and am now legally able to be called sexual assault crisis counselor. I will be helping the center out this week with the White Ribbon campaign. I have learned so much about the topic of sexual assault, and the statistics are mind boggling. Sexual assault is considered ANY sexual contact against victims will by force, threat, or intimidation. On any given day in the state of VA one sexual assault happens every five minute, that’s a lot! However only 10% of all sexual assault are reported to the police. The statistics show that a sexual assault predator victimizes 10 times before ever being reported. One in three women will be sexually assaulted by the age of 18. You wouldn’t guess it but one in five men will be sexually assaulted by the age of 18 as well. These numbers are unbelievably high. I believe something drastic needs to be done to stop sexual assault from happening this much, the numbers are so high it seems to almost be a norm. But to lower the number of sexual assault, you must look at the root of the problem... which is the fact that 80% of all predators were abused as children. I believe to solve this problem we must make sure that all children are protected from abused.

:I just wanted to share that. It's a huge deal with every age today if you wanta talk about it some more let me know. It's something I am extreamly passionate about. I even get to go to hospitals and help rape victims as well as secondarys, this is an amazing experience.
