Souji #26

His stomach did an unhappy little tumble as Souji noted Yomiko's expression. There had been a glimmer of recognition there, he was sure, though she clearly hadn't quite put her finger on anything. He'd have to watch himself; ostracism wasn't something he thought he could handle, along with everything else.

Kagetsuya's arrival seemed to distract the girl from whatever vein her thoughts had taken, and Souji didn't think he'd ever been so pleased to see anyone in his life. He flashed the blond a smile as he drew nearer, but didn't get a chance to respond before Tachikoma's announcement.

"A green what? What's a phone?" he interjected quickly, looking far too excited at the prospect of getting something new and fairly bouncing on the balls of his feet as they went.

He rather hoped that phones--whatever they were--tasted nice.

Someone bellowed behind them, and Okita's anxious scheming was brought to a rather abrupt halt as he whirled, hand going automatically to his left hip before he'd quite realized what he was doing. He caught Kagetsuya eying him and flushed slightly, then let his hand fall back to his side.

Wait.

Since when did the blond have wings!?

"Oooh," Souji cooed, quite unable to stop himself from reaching out and touching. He giggled as he fingered one of the larger feathers. "Feels sort of like a chicken," he murmured, remembering the bird Mitsu had had him pluck, once, before he was too old for such things. He'd keep that part to himself.

((You know who you are.))
